Has anyone ever gotten the good postcard, but not the call?
My husband auditioned for Millionaire in June, and just got the good postcard a couple weeks ago. Poking around on the internet I couldn't see any examples of someone having gotten into the pool, but never got called. Is that an accurate impression or no?

My call came after a second happy card. I believe the pool I landed in after my first happy card was flushed - but that is my personal belief, not necessarily fact.

Where's our resident recordkeeper when you need him? Surely lb has the information about current (including past years) and flushed pool swimmers somewhere in his archives.
I'm not sure we're a sufficiently large group to say categorically that the number of flushed swimmers has decreased over the years. We are, however, all we have to work with in terms of available data.

Nope. Never saved any of those old audition lists.
I know there are a lot of people who got flushed from the old APP, but that was due to overcarding and the imminent death of the Prime Time show. I have no idea how many or even who on this Bored was all flushed from previous SyndieBAM pools (Other than the obvious one)....

I had extraordinary luck. I got on the show twice (prime-time waving and syndicated hot seat,) but I had to collect three happy cards before that could happen. The middle one became worthless the moment they decided to change the form of the questions asked on the qualifying test.

I swam in that same pool. Good thing I swim well.MarleysGh0st wrote:Yes, I got the Happy Card in November 2003 and tread water in the pool for over two years before being flushed out in May 2006. There are several others of us here.
But I am willing to try and swim some more!

The sad (no pun intended) postscript to the APP is that in 2002, which really the only season that many of the chair-less who remain here could have realistically made it onto the Syndicated show, we were technically prohibited from auditioning for it if we had been placed in the prime time pool in 2001. I don't recall either exactly how many there were (I was one of them, though). I do remember a report or two about someone with a prime time happy card getting called to the syndie show, but such reports were extremely rare -- and were second-hand only, at that.

I was another of those. I got my one and only happy card from the San Jose audition. --Bobgsn309 wrote:littlebeast13 wrote:gsabc wrote:Where's our resident recordkeeper when you need him? I found an old copy of the Contestant Player Pool List that I kept updated on the old Bored. I've deleted those who got into the Hot Seat, so I believe this list should include everyone we know who got the Happy Card but was flushed from the SyndieBAM pool without getting The Call.

But, anyway, while the Happy Card is telling the truth when it says that "Being in the Contestant Player Pool does not guarantee that you will be a contestant on the show," the bottom line is this, rexalite: Your husband just got into the Pool last month and TPTB just started making phone calls to cast the first episodes of the season last week, so it's much too early to worry about this yet.
How about having your husband work on lining up potential PAFs (including obtaining their photos for possible use on air) and getting some practice time with them?
And welcome to the Bored!

The list I have doesn't included those who taped in 2002, but there were a fair number of BBs who did, including some who came back for Llamarama.frogman042 wrote:Do you happen to have the total who did get the happy card and get to sit in the Hot Seat, so we can get some (probably useless) statistics between the two sets?
---Jay (Nary a fortnight to go)
I count 2 from the 2003 pool, 12 from 2003 pool, and 6 from the 2007 pool, for a total of 20 from those three years.
I don't have a list of the 2006 and 2007 pools, primarily because we were pretty much skunked those two season, except for a couple BBs who joined us after already receiving their Happy Cards or after already taping their shows.
Or, in Ogi's case, between taping his first show and his carry-over show!

I'm pretty sure that I was swimming with Marley in the pool around this time.MarleysGh0st wrote:Yes, I got the Happy Card in November 2003 and tread water in the pool for over two years before being flushed out in May 2006. There are several others of us here.
Last year I had what I thought was a great "audition", which included a second interview, but alas still received the dreaded sad card.
