The NASCAR race? You mean the Pikes Peak Hill Climb? I didn't realize that was a Nascar event. If that's case, then I guess you were here on the Fourth of July, in which case there might have been a few thunderstorms. But they're really not that common.

No, I mean I stayed at the hotel and watched the NASCAR race on TV (I believe it was the first race at one of the California tracks). I can even pull the date for you, June 22, 1997 (I can remember each day we saw the Rockies games, so I can pinpoint which week each year we were there!). I have seen the Hill Climb on ESPN, though. That's a terrifying drive going 30 mph, let alone racing like a maniac up there!!!

The picture of you running to the gift shop and losing consciousness makes me laugh. Someone forgot to tell you that we don't have oxygen here. Oxygen is for sissies.

Btw, there is no possessive apostrophe in Pikes Peak. That drives me nuts!

Okay, so it's not a drive, it's a short putt. Ha!

Just so it's clear, my Dad's from here as well. They met while they both worked at the local drive in while they were in high school....

I'm sure I'm not the only person on earth who owes their existence to a drive in, but not in the usual way....

My mom and dad met at the gas station. She thought he was a hood that was going to steal her gas.

Not quite as romantic as the drive in, but I made it here just the same.
