I made a nice bruschetta with gorgonzola melted on the toasted garlic bread topped with a roasted pepper (red, green. orange and yellow) and red onion mixture. A little balsamic and good olive oil and it was really yummy.

If you want a buffet thing going, I can contribute my mom's Sloppy Joes (flavored with ground clove- mmm) and her potato salad, which includes hard boiled egg and celery seed.
Also, her great fried chicken- simplest recipie in the world, none of us could ever get it as good as she did it. I miss my mom for a lot of reasons, but the fried chicken is near the top of the list.

I am about 25% sure of this.

I've added a mental note to try clove the next time I make Sloppy Joes. Thanks for mentioning this!nitrah55 wrote:If you want a buffet thing going, I can contribute my mom's Sloppy Joes (flavored with ground clove- mmm) and her potato salad, which includes hard boiled egg and celery seed.

Also, as bad as it is for health reasons, I would love to learn to make a really good fried chicken!! I tend to bake and grill chicken. I've never mastered the technique for frying it with the crispy coating.

Today's special is...
Wasabi Crab Pinwheels:
I use the Wasabi Mayo from Trader Joes. The psuedo crab (surimi?), finely minced celery, and sliced of avocado and extremely thin tomato slices wraped in a herb tortilla (warm it first) and then sliced into about 5-6 pinwheels.
Anyone want to propose a new cocktail?

I had carrots and hummus earlier, and a big hunk of mozzarella with roasted red peppers.
Here's my drink choice:

It has a lot going for it, including Captain Morgan's rum and peach schnapps, and it is named for a cat.
(I told it to look for spiced rum since it did not recognize Captain Morgan's specifically.)

I'll bring a big ol' platter of Lemon Goodie Squares. They're my favorite, so I always volunteer to bring them.

We have a 7-11, but their parking lot's a mess because they just tore out their gas pumps....TheConfessor wrote:Yeah. PSM can give all the details. I've hardly been in there since we got a Quik Trip. And now that one of my sisters works for them, I can carry out my hernia jugs full of Pepsi for free now (I'll be sure to send them the bill for my next stone).....
