Ok, the printer and fax machine work. Loading that software killed the last machine.

The drive failed in the middle of loading software and the computer shut down. There were major problems after that. I had to get my disk out by taking off the front panel of the computer and using a paperclip.

The HP people even had me take the battery out of the hard drive to get the computer started and it didn't work.

Quicken just loaded with no problems. I loaded Quicken first last time and it took forever. I don't think that the printer killed the other computer, I think that the Vista files were bad to begin with.

I'm glad this one is working, but it certainly is major aggravation to have to return a brand new computer! That would be my luck...get the one computer in the store that doesn't work!
