It was five years ago today (!) that Jeanie received her new kidney.
There have been some ups and downs with the meds, in terms of dosages and side effects, and some other very serious challenges along the way. In particular, for most of the past 3-4 years, she has had to battle against the polyoma virus (the same condition that cost Steven Cojocaru of ET his first kidney graft; ironically, his doctor was the very same man who developed the IVIG process that made Jeanie's transplant possible in the first place). Far more often than not, this virus causes loss of the organ, usually within a few months.
But true to form, Jeanie has beaten the odds yet again, and her kidney is doing remarkably well, despite the challenges. Just another miracle to add to her string of them.

I'll be heading up to Harrisburg this afternoon for our usual celebratory dinner (steak, woo hooo!!). Hopefully, we'll have many, many more years worth....
