Saints and Opera
It's still my birthday in my time zone, and I'm going to wear my pumpkin suit until midnight. I've had a great day. Nov. 1 is All Saints Day, however, and I have a new operatic avatar.
If interested in performing, please let me know. Some parts are still available for both four- and two-footers. The only part for a non-footer, the snake, has been filled. With polyester fluff.

All the two-footer singing parts are in English, except for birds, not counting birds who are parrots, who may know English. Although non-human, two-footed guest star Rocket J. Squirrel is fluent in English, of course. Different species of four-footers may use their own respective native languages, whether Hound, Felinity, or Elelphantine. Choral singers of mixed species and footedness will use a lot of Lala-ing. Dancers of all species will communicate in Foot. Those with walk-on parts will speak in Spear or Yadayada.kayrharris wrote:Is this Opera in English?
Did I miss the cast of characters? Do we have to audition? You already know some of my qualifications. I'm just sayin'.......
I'm quite impressed with the avatar....
You don't have to audition, Miss Kay. If you would consider it, I have you in mind as the Lady of the Manor, which is a singing and sobbing role of great and elegant importance.

Josie, I know you're going to be perfect. Because I know you are petite, I will ask dance captain Casey to make sure you're in the front row.herjosie wrote:ooh ooh miss annie -- i will post a picture of me in my pink dancing outfit tomorrow so you can decide if it is what you have in mind for a dancing girly doggie in your opera. i sing too, espeshaly when i see evil squrrls in the yard.

And, thanks. This is the best birthday I've ever, ever had.

Lucky was asking if you had any Gilbert Gottfried-like screaming parts. He'd be interested. Perhaps as a herald for something portentous?
Beebs realizes he will be out of commission for a bit, but offered to take tickets if you want.
Elvis is watching from the ether.
Artie the Psycho Cat would want star-billing if she knew about this, so we'll keep it all a secret.

I thought Our Lady of Martyrs provided the perfect venue for the first performance of an opera about St. Guinefort, who was a martyr himself.MarleysGh0st wrote: But from Annie's new avatar, it looks like we're all a little late for rehearsal! Or did you just get the church to start promoting it early, Annie?
The church was kind enough to let me practice putting up the sign.

Beebs, tickets. Check (and thank you very much, Beebs. We'll find a comfy cushion where you can rest, if your leg starts aching.)
Artie the Psycho Cat. We'll see.
I would love to have special float-on roles for Tigger, Ashley, and Elvis, if their schedules will permit. I know they are very busy in that other place, though.

It has been a long time since I was on a stage, Ms. Annie, but I would be happy to play a part if you wish. I am a little out of practice, but I'll bet it's just like riding a bike!
Of course, I fell off my bike a lot....
I won the prestigious Kirk Douglas Award back in high school (the Wilbur H. Lynch High School version of the Best Actor Oscar), so I couldn't have been too bad.
OK, mebbe the bribes helped a little....

Count me in! As long as the composer doesn't confuse me for one of those evil squirrels (no relation of course!) and chase me around the venue all night. I'm getting old you know!AnnieCamaro wrote: All the two-footer singing parts are in English, except for birds, not counting birds who are parrots, who may know English. No worries, Rocky! May I call you Rocky? I am the composer, and I can most certainly tell the difference between a talented thespian like you and those rotten, evil furballs that run around the back yard.Rocket_J_Squirrel wrote:

(I'm so excited I can hardly breathe! To have such a huge celebrity posting in this very thread makes my tail wag at 110 mph!)

Mr. T_, I would be pleased and honored if you would play a role in my opera. Please tell me your preferred singing key. I've been working very hard on an aria I wish you'd sing. It's called, "The Legs Don't Match My Heart." This one means a lot to me because, as you may remember, my legs don't always keep up with me.T_Bone0806 wrote:It has been a long time since I was on a stage, Ms. Annie, but I would be happy to play a part if you wish.

I'm speaking as handler of our brood when I give their, er, talents:
Nero (feline): Fluent in Italian and Norwegian, but still learning English. He says he could possibly squeeze this production in. He gets along with others (dogs and cats) if he feels like it.
Bella (feline): Fluent in Italian, Norwegian and English. She has been heard singing in a 1st soprano range. A little shy around dogs though.
Bruno (feline): Fluent in Italian and English, but still recovering from the operation on his femur.
Xena (Rotty) : Fluent in German and English. Great at herding others. Not much of a singing voice. Perhaps an usher position is available, or perhaps security? Gets along great with those who she's supposed (told) to get along.
Princess Bianca Rosa (bichon): Wants to know if there are any puppy parts left? She's still in the 1st soprano range herself. Gets along with everyone and melts many hearts.

missanniecamaro --
This is a picture that The Other Redhead took. She had taken much prettier ones.
However, this was the only one on the digital camera. The rest are on -- what do you call it? Yes, that's it. Film.
I only mentioned this in hopes that it will help the costume department decide on what I am wearing.
Thank you,
Your friend,
Miss Denise
