New audition application form?
Does anyone happen to know what questions they ask on the audition application form this year?
For instance, one previous year the questions were:
1. What would Meredith Vieira find most interesting about you?
2. What is the first thing you would do with one million dollars?
3. Complete this sentence – You’d never believe it but I…..
4. Any unique titles, awards or distinctions?
5. Anything else we should know about you?

Is someone going to Vegas? or Sacto?
I believe in the usefulness of useless information.

1. Quirks, rituals, superstitions…What makes you unique?
2. How would winning $1 million change your life?
3. What is one thing you do that makes people laugh?
4. If you could vote yourself as best-_____ or most-likely-to_____, what would be your vote?
5. What do you do for fun?
6. You’d never believe it but I once…
7. Why do you want to be on Millionaire?
We were also handed a second form, asking if 'BAM were to match your winnings and donate them to a charity, which would it be, and do you have any particular connection to that charity.

RE: new application questions?
What is this, a personality test or a game show application?
1. I don't have any quirks that I can think of.
2. The only things I can think of would be boring to APs (paying off mortage, saving, etc).
3. I can't think of anything that makes people laugh.
4. I'd vote myself most likely to get on a game show.
5. I read, watch game shows, play the piano, and other (to APs) boring stuff.
6. I once dropped the ceremonial first puck at a hockey game. (I used this one on my J! application in 2006-figuring that Alex is Canadian and Canadians LOVE hockey.)
7. OK, Here's a question I can answer! I want to be on Millionaire because it looks like fun, could be financially rewarding, and I love a challenge!
Hmm, is the "double your winnings and give it to your favorite charity" part of the new changes we've been hearing about?
I'd have to win enough to split it several ways! I can think of 2 or 3 that would be good ones.

P.S. I don't know you and can't say for sure if you're boring...but you seem to think you are!! So if you're really concerned they'll think you're boring, bring someone fun with you to the audition.
I don't know if it helped my case...but I'm an auditor, how boring is that?? Pretty boring, believe me! I'm sure it helped that my very personable boyfriend "fake proposed" during the test. They asked if any engaged couples were there (they were testing for wedding week) and he jumped up, kicked back his chair and got down on one knee. Of course there was no real proposal (funny, yet not funny, all at the same time
). They loved it though, they all remembered him a month later when I went back to tape. So if you bring someone super fun and energetic with you (and say it will be your on air companion) maybe that will help?
Again, not that I think you need help...just going based on your comments about yourself

Or is your quirk that you're going to continue to wait for them to come to Kalamazoo?

As for what you would do with the money, just make up something that sounds like fun. You are not under any obligation to actually do it.Kazoo65 wrote:What is this, a personality test or a game show application?

If they can claim they are looking for people who are good at trivia, you can lie too.

Passed both of the tests this morning in Sacto. I can't remember the exact wording, but below you'll find an approximate listing of the movie quiz application questions.
Movie Quiz Questions...
Are you obsessed about any particular movie? How many times have you seen it, and why do you like it?
Do you have a movie collection and how mes are in it? How many times per year do you see movies? Are you a member of Netflix?
Name three of your favorite moments in a movie and explain why they are special to you?
Do you have a home theater? How much have you spent in upgrading your system?
Do you collect movie memoribillia? What is the most you've paid for an object to add to your collection?
That's all I can remember of the app. Out of about 350+ test takers in the early morning session, 7 of us passed both quizzes. About 20 passed just the movie quiz, and maybe 30 passed the general one.
Those that passed were given an application to fill out and told to return at 12:30PM for the interview. The "interview/audtion" process took only about an hour.
Good luck to all you future test takers...
Carmel

Congratulations on the test-passing, Carmel. I am hoping for two happy cards coming for you.mellowmom wrote:Passed both of the tests this morning in Sacto.
How did your son do? (Ah. Never mind. I just read in another thread that he passed both tests, too. WTG! Let's have a grand total of four good postcards in the family mailbox.)

Tony passed both of them also. It was funny, because he had planned to take just the movie test and I was only going for the general quiz, but when we got in the auditorium they said we had to take both tests. Neither one of us had planned on trying for the "other" show but wound up passing both.
I'm not holding my breath over getting the card. I think my written answers were pretty good, but my interviewer looked bored out of her gourd, so I don't think I'm a good "personality" fit for the daytime version.

Did they know about Joe's history on the show, and if so, did they act as if that was a good thing or a bad thing? Did you specifically mention it or do your best to avoid mentioning it? In the past, when I've had friends and relatives try out, I tell them it's probably safest not to mention me, but I'm not sure if that's right or not. Jeopardy seems to view family connections more positively than WWTBAM does.mellowmom wrote:Tony passed both of them also.
