The Hypnotist

#1 Post by a1mamacat » Tue Jun 24, 2008 5:01 pm

It was entertainment night at the Senior Center. Claude the hypnotist exclaimed: 'I'm here to put you into a trance. I intend to hypnotize each and every member of the audience".

The excitement was almost electric as Claude withdrew a beautiful antique pocket watch from his coat.

"I want you each to keep your eye on this antique watch. It's a very special watch. It's been in my family for six generations."

He began to swing the watch gently back and forth while quietly chanting, "Watch the watch, watch the watch, and watch the watch...

The crowd became mesmerized as the watch swayed back and forth, light gleaming off its polished surface. Hundreds of pairs of eyes followed the swaying watch, until, suddenly, it slipped from the hypnotist's fingers and fell to the floor, breaking into a hundred pieces.

"'Shit!" said the Hypnotist.

It took three days to clean up the Senior Center

Now THAT is funny. I don't care who you are.

Thanks for posting.
..what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? let them take arms.

War is where the government tells you who the bad guy is.
Revolution is when you decide that for yourself.

Good one!

I knew it was a joke (because why would a young thing such as yourself be at a Senior Center? And why are you spelling it "Center" anyway? Ha!), but you still had me guessing up until the last line.

I had no idea, I am certainly behind the times! That actually sounds like a fun job, you can spend your time actually improving people's situations, which is rare in government work.

I'm sure you get the occasional grumpy old man or one of those whiny women who draw on pointy eyebrows with a pencil and spend 33 minutes at the checkout sorting through their change purse. But, all in all, I think you help make a difference for people who deserve it and are often ignored and that's a satisfying feeling.
