Your 2008 "Dream Team"

#1 Post by NellyLunatic1980 » Mon Jun 23, 2008 2:09 pm

Carmelo Anthony
Carlos Boozer
Chris Bosh
Kobe Bryant
Dwight Howard
LeBron James
Jason Kidd
Chris Paul
Tayshaun Prince
Michael Redd
Dwyane Wade
Deron Williams

Thank God Melo is on the team or else I would've used some of George Carlin's language.

How did Jason Kidd get on there. Aside from him, it seems like there was about a 25 year old limit.

Lots of talent on the roster. I hope they manage to blend together well enough to win easily.

Not a very diverse team.

I have no clue. I don't follow basketball. But a lot of people who do seem to think diversity is important. I was just commenting. I personally don't care too much about diversity. I think it should always be about the talent and drive.

Ok, I recognize three names. You are talking about basketball, right?

If you don't follow basketball, how do you know that the team isn't diverse? And you don't follow basketball, but you do follow people who follow basketball? Can't they speak for themselves?

I follow basketball to some degree. More college than pro. I don't recognize all of the names well enough to know whether the team is diverse or not. I'll have to take your word on that.

Its called the internet.

Yes, they usually do when the pool of coaches considered for a coaching job is not diverse. And they do speak about the lack of diversity in MLB, even though it is diverse, just not how they like it.

Now, don't over do it. If you are not used to taking my word, I would suggest starting slow.

To be honest, the NBA isn't exactly the most diverse league out there...

Although I'm pretty happy overall (especially that my two favourite NNPs made it), I am surprised at a few of them.

You didn't need to worry, Carmelo was a lock. He's amazing in FIBA and he WAS the qualifying team.

Now I'm just hoping that my Brazilian Hammer is able to play (and that Brazil qualifies), so I can have three teams to root for this year (I am always a Lithuania fan).

Bryant, Boozer, Prince, Redd, they're all close to 30.

Kidd is one of those guards who, like AI and Nash, is seemingly ageless. Although he is losing it a little, I think Mr. Cuban will take a bigger toll than Father Time.

Are you referring to racial makeup?

If I had to guess I'd say the top three ethnicities in America are probably Caucasian/white, African-American/black and Hispanic.

You've got white, black, hispanic (Puerto Rican) and one guy who is practically an Italian. I'm probably wrong, but for some reason I think Lebron James might be part Asian.

I knew some of those guys were older than that, but Kidd seems like an old man compared to the rest. Bryant doesn't seem nearly as old as he is.

Bryant is 29 (his birthday is one day before mine and JBG's)
Boozer is 26
Prince is 28
Redd is 28 (he shares a birthday with me and JBG)

Melo is 24
Bosh is 24
Howard is 22
James is 23
Paul is 23
Wade is 26 (only 2 months younger than Boozer)
Williams turns 24 on Thursday

Kidd is 35

White men (Jerry Colangelo and Mike Krzyzewski) put the team together.

so cute when Ed and BiT piss at each other.

Ed pissing at anyone can be cute.

BiT pissing is always cute.

I do not mean to mock anyone in this post.

Any mocking is in your mind only.
