If anyone has his latest album, can you tell me if Warren Zevon is credited with writing his new summer song?

They call that sampling? I call it 'lifting off the vocal track and replacing it with a new one'. The first time I heard it I wasn't in the same room as the television and couldn't hear the words, just the music. The best sampling story is Thomas Dolby. Kevin Federline used She Blinded Me with Science and, when Dolby found out about it, he told them to cease and desist. Not because he's opposed to sampling, but because he thought the Federline song was crap. Had it been good, he wouldn't have had a problem with it. Ha!

Between that and the New Kids on the Block (or, as I call them, the Old Farts Down the Street) summer song, I'm all summered out already.

I'm surprised they aren't playing the NKOTB on VH1C. They seem to be playing just about every other 80's retread's new songs every hour... like I watch VH1C to see new songs in the first place! I could strangle the idiots at VH1C for what they've done to my favorite channel over the last few years!
They should play some more classic NKOTB, though. It's amazing how much better stuff sounds after about 20 years....

I was watching Now That's What I Call Classic Rock on VH1C late last night and they played Cheap Trick. I'd forgotten how much I loved Robin Zander. So much so that I actually had a serious relationship with someone just because he looked like Robin Zander. Well, that and he had a Type LT Camaro. That was the model with the plaid seats. Bitchin'!

That's the one they don't play! VH1 used to play The Right Stuff on The Big 80's during the 90's all the time, but I've NEVER seen it on VH1 Clas... er, VH1C since I got the channel 6 years ago! My sisters were the right age for NKOTB when they were big, so I had a good reason to dislike them because my sisters drove me nuts with them. Now, their music is nostalgia from today's perspective, and it sounds 100 times better than just about anything nowadays. Kinda like when I started at The Wal in '98, and they'd have the current music station on while we were unloading trucks, and I hated all the songs they played over and over again. Now, almost every one of those songs is something I'll turn up if I hear it on the radio.... well, except for that damn Aerosmith song from "Armageddon". Aerosmith shoulda hung it up at the end of the 80's, 'cause all their post-"Permanent Vacation" stuff sounds like whiny crap....
