BAM birth

#1 Post by franktangredi » Tue Jun 03, 2008 9:37 am

I'm looking at a photo of newborn Carson Jacob Moen ... and the only reason that's significant here is if you remember my episode of WWTBAM. Carson is the son of Brandon Moen, the young man who immediately preceded me in the hot seat, and his wife Francesca, who at the time was his girlfriend and sat in the companion seat. Brandon was the college student whose lit professor PAF didn't know the Three Musketeers.

Since Nick Meyer (aka the '52-minute man') is now a tournament Scrabble player, I am still in contact with both my immediate predecessor and my immediate successor. I bet nobody else can claim that!

Congrats to the new parents.

I know Dr Tim, thguy, followed me. The contestant before me was a cop in Oklahoma. Both super nice guys...IMO.

Congrats to the parents!

I remember Brandon and his PAF question well.

I am still in contact with the woman who followed me (a llama). I cannot recall who I followed. I'll have to go to the tape.
I believe in the usefulness of useless information.

You don't have to go far to find my predecessor. :-) You'll have to ask him if he's still in touch with his, though.

My successor, Bill McDonald, gained more fame by making the finals of the Jeopardy! ToC a couple years back (which also meant I was sandwiched between a pair of four-time J! champions). I haven't talked to him since our taping, but I had hoped to maybe run into him at this year's national Crossword Tournament, as I knew he had attended more than once in the past.

Alas, he did not attend this year. I did chat with Trip Payne, another season 1 alum, for a while, though.
Bazinga!

And I'll be seeing Trip Payne this summer at the National Scrabble Championship in Orlando.
