What a great game! You have to give it to the Penguins for not giving up. There are going to be a lot of tired hockey fans tomorrow.

Sykora calls his shot!

Pens are trying really hard to make a fool out of me (not that it's hard to do).

Back to the Igloo and let's see what happens.

Hey, I resemble that remark!

That was one hell of a hockey game. Ranks right up there with "The Miracle" as one of the best I've ever seen.

Win or lose tomorrow night, I think the MVP should go to Marc-Andre Fleury.

Who is the only non goaltender to win the playoff MVP aka Conn Smyth Trophy while playing for the losing team?

I really need to stop going to bed before games are over. I turned this one off after the first period with the Penguins up 2-0. I turned off Game 5 of the Lakers-Spurs game after the Lakers had taken an 8(?) point lead with less than five minutes to go. Don't be surprised if I click off the Belmont at the top of the stretch with Big Brown leading by 8 lengths....

It was a great game. We got to the bar after softball in the middle of the third period. Three of my softball teammates play on the same hockey team -- aargh! -- and often feature an assortment of gorgeous bruises in livid color at our first practice. They're all Pens fans (or evil redwings haters, not quite the same thing), and I guess I almost broke the eardrum of the non-hockey fan sitting next to me when we tied it up with 30 seconds left in regulation. Sorry, Sandy! We ducked out at the end of the second OT to watch our glorious victory at home and make Casey hate hockey almost as much as she hates Broncos football.

GO PENS!!!!!!!!!!!

A classic gem.

Not quiet in Mazeroski land, but very inspiring victory.

The Pens have a non-zero chance now.

Fleury= MVP

Then above is also the play where Gonchar took his header into the boards (OUCH!!!)

Malone Takes a Slap Shot to the Face

The above plays took place within minutes of each other in the 2nd- yet both Malone and Gonchar came back into the game later, and both were on the ice for the winning goal- Gonchar helped to set up the action that led to Sykora's shot, and Malone was bothering Osgood in front of the net.

These are two bad-ass dudes, man!!!

I was stunned. Both by the late Pens goal in regulation and by Fleury stoning the Wings in the first OT.

OK, we've got two more games to get it right. I'm still pretty confident but I did not want this thing to go back to Pittsburgh.
No matter where you go, there you are.
