Nottingham, U.K. (AHN) - Author J.K. Rowling's outing of Harry Potter's mentor Albus Dumbledore has caused reactions of different kinds around the world.

And a more amusing consequence of the announcement is being experienced by 36-year old Paul Croft, who brandishes a 2-foot tattoo of the newly-exposed wizard on his back.

Circumstances have, however, turned against the well-meaning factory worker father as his co-workers have found it an irresistible urge to make him the butt end of jokes ever since the revelation that Dumbledore was gay, and was in love with a fellow wizard.

"I went into work and everyone was snickering," recalled Croft. "When I walked in, one of the lads said, 'Oi, Paul heard about Dumbledore?"

"It's been terrible," he added. "I've always liked Dumbledore - just not in that way."

The tattoo, which cost $1200, portrayed Dumbledore holding a scroll which bore the names of Croft's five children, all of whom are huge Harry Potter fans.

I'm surprised he wasn't the butt of jokes just for having a 2-foot tattoo of a wizard on his back!

It's going to cost a lot more than $1,200 to have it removed.

Personally, I take exception to both of those quotes. I am neither insane nor poor, and I've been tatted up four times since 2000. I'm not ruling out future tattoos, either.

I happen to like seeing a good tattoo - and I've seen lots of them when I used to go to the gym in Vegas. I have one and very nearly had the spider web from my shoulder to my elbow. But, for some reason never pulled the trigger. Lady G has a number of them - all daintily done. No garish, ugly tats there. I happen to think they can be very sexy if done properly. I don't like the big symbols on the back of neck or armbands on the girls. And I have often remarked to the wearer that I liked their tat if I thought it merited a remark. I know that many people do not like them and think those that get them are weird or strange. So be it. I never really considered myself ultra-conservative anyway.

A while back my then-three-year old saw a guy with tatooes all up and down his sleeveless arms. Her comment was: "He has too many stamps."

I was going to get one that said "Welcome to Jamaica. Have a nice day." They ran out of room, though, after the J.

That's funny!

I have seen many cable shows where the guys (and some girls) get "sleeves" done. I have never been much of a fan of those, even if they are tastefully done. Between the sleeves and the overall body tats, I think that it's a bit much. I have seen some really nice full back tattoos, though I would never consider having that done. Those are tats that I feel look much better on someone else.

I think the strangest ones I have seen are they guys that had their faces tatooed so that they resembled a lizard and a leopard (I think it was). That's way out there weird.

That's a nice one. I don't have any photos of my spider web but it, too, is on my upper left arm. I am debating on getting one on my chest in memory of my son but haven't made a final decision yet.

Meredith Vierra revealed last night on The Today Show that she got a tatoo of the Who Wants to be A Millionaire logo on her back while she was out drunk last night, partying with Barbara Walters and Rosie O'Donnell in a local New York City club. She has not immediatly responded to emails regarding whether she plans to have it removed.

I bet Paul and the kids will be fine. People have been naming their children after Dumbledore for years because of his fine qualities. Those didn't vanish when he was outed.
