We're having a wedding reception for our son. He was married in March, but we are just getting around to having a real reception.

That's keeping me pretty busy this week. Natalie told me I would be the one who has to pay for her son's wedding reception. I'm just glad we can afford to do it for them.

Other than that, it's just take it easy the rest of the weekend, once the out of town company has vacated my house.

And that's not even counting the May birthdays we DON'T celebrate! Uncle, aunt, ggrandma, etc.

I guess we're only genetically capable of breeding in August.

Our schools are very short in funds. The PTA is paying for copy paper and toilet paper.

The janitor usually comes in and vacuums Emma's class every night. They don't get rid of clutter, not do they scrub desk tops.

That's the way it is in California.

They are cutting more from the budget next year. One of our librarians got laid off and the other had her hours cut. Next year, there is no zero period at the high school, so Maddie won't be able to do Quiz Bowl practice. They are asking parents to send in copy paper and donate gift cards for Office Max.

Emma will also have to go to school 45 minutes later than Maddie, which is a HUGE hassle and a waste of gas. Because the middle school will be starting later than the high school, the district will be able to save money on buses and drivers to transport Special Education Students to school.

Natalie is referring to her brother. His bride's family contributed $300 for her dress and that was it. We have paid for everything else. The cute little Lion Around kid is Natalie's nephew.
