B4 Team-The List
Week 266
What are you doing for your health/fitness this week?
I did my part for my health this morning. I woke up and barely recognized myself in the mirror. My eyes were almost puffed all the way shut, and sort of lopsided.
I knew I had some sinus issues, but I've never seen that happen before. It was freaky. So I called my doc.
I have both a sinus infection and an ear infection. He gave me some stuff that is intended to clear me up ASAP before we go to WDW.
This has been bothering me for a while, so I guess I shouldn't have blown it off so long.
Hopefully, I will sleep better tonight. My sinus problems haven't really slowed me down much during the day, but I haven't been sleeping well and have been having headaches.

I just got back from seeing my nice doctor in OKC. Even though the hole in my back is not closed completely, the opening is down to the size of the tip of my mom's pinky finger. The doctor said I am doing great. (Of course she would say that. I am her favorite patient.) I'm not supposed to go all the way back up to the far-away vet until the end of the summer. This means I will have to think up reasons why Lizbit and I need to take other kinds of car trips. If you guys will help convince my mom that this would be an excellent idea, and remind her from time to time, I would appreciate it.
I love riding in the car.

Annie, I am riding in the car tomorrow, and will think of you. I am having a one-day mini-vacation.
The health benefit is that I will sleep straight through the night for the first time in a long while. My four-footer gets anxious in the mornings, and needs me to walk him around the house for reassurance.
He is getting a checkup later in the week, during which we will inquire about something to help him sleep. I know it sounds funny for a cat to need to sleep more, but there it is.

I am not doing too well regarding my integrity and this thread. I noticed I was not going to post anything, after all, I have not done what I said I would do for so many weeks, what in the world makes me think I will this time?
You gotta be in it to win it.
So..... here goes.
I will eat only while sitting down at a table.
I will tell myself to shut up everytime I hear myself say "It's no big deal, no one will know you ate this ________ standing here at the counter."

Pea, I know you have mentioned the sitting down at a table to eat many times before and I am not sure I fully understand. Do you eat at a counter? Stand by the fridge and eat? Eat while at the computer? Eat in an easy chair while watching tv? Do you eat while doing your eliptical? More info please if you care to share. Oh, and best of luck 'sticking" to the eating at table this week.peacock2121 wrote:I am not doing too well regarding my integrity and this thread. I eat standing at the kitchen counter. It is where I eat what I call my breakfast and what I call my lunch. The real problem is, I don't really eat a meal, I nibble and then I am not full and then I nibble some more and so on. If I eat a real meal, I generally do not then nibble.
I eat sitting at my desk, while working or on the computer.
I have never eaten while on the elliptical.
I eat in my car.
I do not generally sit in an easy chair to watch TV. I am usually in the kitchen doing stuff while watching TV, or sitting up in bed. I do not, nor will I ever eat in bed. That is just too gross.
This is not as uncomfortable as I thought it would be - telling on myself, I mean.

Try keeping a journal, note all the foods you eat, when and where. Then arrange to show it to someone. I find the "shame factor" to be the biggest motivator. Well that and you really have to want to change the habit. When I used to keep a food journal and had to show it to my trainer, I found myself being more honest and being better, knowing he'd look at it and yell at me.
