Trump endorses Paxton
Texas Senator John Cornyn is in a runoff with state Attorney General and career criminal Ken Paxton for the Republican nomination for the Senate, and Trump has just endorsed Paxton. Cornyn recently proposed naming a highway in Texas after Trump to try to get the endorsement, but it was not enough.
Cornyn votes with Trump all the time anyway, so I don't know what Paxton would do differently other than be more corrupt.

Flock, I agree with you on most points. You don't know the history with Paxton. Cornyn is normal, Paxton is weird.flockofseagulls104 wrote: ↑Thu May 21, 2026 4:10 pmA different perspective.

If Trump requires lockstep agreement, as opposed to 99 percent agreement if you believe Cornyn ads, then we're in cuckoo land.

I am enjoying Trump nuking his Senate majority for the next six months. He’s already lost Cassidy and Cornyn will free range regardless of the outcome of the runoff.

Cornyn has to go. I'll have a little vomit in the back of my throat voting for Paxton, but I'll do it. I voted for Hunt in the initial primary.

The 'usual suspects' have no concept of being color blind and judging people by the content of their character. All they see and all that is important to them is the color of people's skin. We will never have real racism die away until these people fade away into the dustbin of history, where they will rightly be judged harshly.

Your comments are more ironic than usual given what's happened in the various state legislatures in the South in the last month in which they canceled ongoing primary elections and did awkward rescheduling in others in their rush to redraw Congressional maps (including splitting Memphis into three separate Congrssional districts, each stretching far into rural west Tennessee).
But I realize that your poor brain must be about to explode trying to decide who to vote for in next month's runoff.
Do you vote for the guy who's used his office to enrich his family businesses and other personal interests for the last 14 years, or the hypocrite who talks tough about deportations while he sues to allow his companies to use undocumented migrants?
For Senate, do you vote for the guy who's the subject of multiple ethics violation probes or the guy who epitomizes the phrase "whitefailure" because his only qualification for office seems to be getting fired for being a losing head football coach?
Decisions, decisions, decisions
BTW, I'll be voting for people who actually intend to help Georgians instead of make themselves rich and suck up to Donald Trump, Jon Ossoff and Keisha Lance Bottoms.

This was about Paxton, Cornyn. NOT Georgia. Georgia can go fuck itself.
" Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton avoided a trial and resolved his nine-year-old felony securities fraud case by entering into a pretrial diversion agreement. Under the 2024 deal, he agreed to pay \(\$271,000\) in restitution, complete \(100\) hours of community service, and take \(15\) hours of legal ethics courses. "

I don't know how the voting rules work in Texas, but in Georgia, you can't vote in the Democratic primary and then in the Republican runoff for the same election cycle (or vice versa). There's no party registration in Georgia, so when you show up on Primary Day, you request a Democratic, Republican, or non-partisan (allows you to vote for judges, other non-partisan races, constitutional amendments, and similar ballot issues only) ballot. Then, if you show up for the runoff, they check your voting history and give you the same party ballot for the runoff.

In Texas if you vote in the primary you have to vote in the same party's runoff. Re: Trump endorses Paxton
Same in Texas. I voted in the Republican primary and runoff -- (early voting last week). I live in a small county that doesn't have contested races in the Democratic party, which actually doesn't even field a candidate in most races. The contested race for the nomination for County Judge in the Republican party is going to be very close, and my vote could possibly make a difference. Also, possibly in the race for my county commissioner. If Tallywhacker had lost in the primary to Crockett by one vote, I would have regretted doing that.silverscreenselect wrote: ↑Tue May 26, 2026 9:57 amI don't know how the voting rules work in Texas, but in Georgia, you can't vote in the Democratic primary and then in the Republican runoff for the same election cycle (or vice versa). Trump is 9 for 9 in senate endorsements. The RINOs in the Senate are a disgrace and they need to go. They are assisting the TDS of the democrats and blocking the President's agenda. I think they may be getting the message.

Re: Trump endorses Paxton
I assume veganism is disqualifying in Texas politics. Paxton has repeated the false claim that Talarico is vegan many times. He has to, because Trump said it so it’s Gospel. Trump pronounces it like Vegan (extraterrestrial from the constellation Vega as in Sagan’s Contact). That would make Talarico an illegal alien, which is definitely disqualifying in Texas. Talarico’s response: “I’ve been eating barbecue since before Paxton’s first indictment.”

Ok!
