Yesterday, I rode down to the Cities with an acquaintance (becoming a friend) who has got the Africa hunting bug bad. He used to work with Mrs. Spock 25 years ago and he went to Africa last year with his wife and he is going again in April.
I might go with him at some point.
He lives about an hour away and we met to go to the Minnesota Safari Club show.He brought a friend with who is a soon to retire English teacher so we got to talk about books and writing and such.
We both agreed that "Education of a Wandering Man" is Louis L'Amour's best book. This is as close to an autobiography as we will ever get from him.Essentially it is the story of his reading life.
