I have returned
It's possible that no one knew that I've been away, but it's true. On October 22 I fell in my condo and elwing called EMS. They came and said they were obligated to admit me to the hospital because I couldn't support myself. I was in the hospital for 8 days, during which time they did nothing about my legs, but did decide that I suffered from hypoxia and fluid retainage. They drained fluid and then transferred me to a rehab center, where I spent the next seven weeks, getting back home last Friday. There is still no diagnosis as to why my legs are so weak, but PT has helped me get some strength back. I'm wheelchair bound but can walk short distances using a walker. Getting in and out of a car is problematic, as is getting in and out of bed, but those should get better with time and exercise.

I thought you'd been suspiciously quiet. Glad you're back!
That is the single worst thing about hospital stays. Every single time my hubs has had to go in, he comes out in worse shape, because they simply let him lie there all day. This last time I was a pita to them, and insisted he get up and walk every day - it made a big difference.
I'm glad you got the PT time - stay at it at home!

Please ask them to review your electrolytes - magnesium especially.
I had a similar go-round with my roommate, who got through it and is now nearly 90. But he now gets a magnesium infusion every two weeks, and rarely gets wobbly like that anymore.
Email me if you want to know more, but this is very common, and fairly easy to fix.

They did a lot of blood work but didn't give me any results. I guess everything was OK or they would have said something.

I'm with the Emory Clinic here in Atlanta, so almost all my doctors and the hospital are part of it. Whenever I have bloodwork done, they post the results on the patient portal, along with "normal" ranges, so I can see what's normal and what isn't. They also post results for things like scans, but those are written in medicalese, so I can't always follow them, but when my colonoscopy revealed cancer, they printed those findings in red so I could spot them and they called me to come in to discuss my treament options. I can also track results historically.
You're right: they would have notified you to discuss any results that might warrant further action.

If you have $50,000.00 lying around, Zhittya (sp?) Co. will prescribe FGF-1, inhaled, in the British Virgin Islands.
They may be allowed to prescribe in Nevada soon, as it also helps diabetes, & a billion other brain problems.
No, they haven't done double-blind studies. But they have terrific results, complete with testimonials.

I have 1 arm shaking, & lately my face shaking, so wasn't hard to diagnose.
I think there are a lot of people with Parkinson's undiagnosed.

As long as I'm talking about Parkinson's: I was involved in an experiment where you stare at a screen for an hour every evening for a couple months. Since this *was* a double-blind experiment, they don't tell you which half you're in. While it was going on I couldn't tell, but since it stopped I'm much worse.
So I would go for this when they sell it. At the start they said I could keep the screen at the end, but at the end they wanted it back after all, saying experiment wasn't over.
