Lyrically Speaking 11-6-25
These are not necessarily my favorite songs, but the quoted lines are some lyrics that I like. There is a two-point Krox bonus in addition to a regular three-point bonus question.
1. She stood there bright as the sun on that California coast
He was a Midwestern boy on his own
She looked at him with those soft eyes, so innocent and blue
He knew right then he was too far from home
2. Before the breathin' air is gone
Before the sun is just a bright spot in the nighttime
Out where the rivers like to run
I stand alone and take back somethin' worth rememberin'
3. Two men say they're Jesus,
One of them must be wrong
4. You in the moonlight with your sleepy eyes
Could you ever love a man like me?
You were right when I walked into your house
I knew I'd never want to leave
Sometimes I'm a strong man
Sometimes cold and scared and sometimes I cry
But that time I saw you I knew with you to light my nights
Somehow I'd get by
5. For the ones who had a notion
A notion deep inside
That it ain't no sin to be glad you're alive
I wanna find one face
That ain't looking through me
I wanna find one place
I wanna spit in the face of these…
6. When I'm tired and thinking cold
I hide in my music, forget the day
And dream of a girl I used to know
I closed my eyes and she slipped away
7. Lookin' out at the road rushin' under my wheels
I don't know how to tell you all just how crazy this life feels
I look around for the friends that I used to turn to to pull me through
Lookin' into their eyes, I see them runnin' too
8. She don't like other women
She likes whips and chains
She likes cocaine and flippin' out with Great Danes
She's about all I can handle
It's too much for my brain
Krox Bonus: Quote some lyrics that you really like.
Bonus: According to the lyrics to #7, in what year was the singer born?

Re: Lyrically Speaking 11-6-25
I’d rather not play today. Even so I’ll share a lyric that I like:
For they could not love you
But still your love was true
And when no hope was left inside
On that starry, starry night
You took your life as lovers often do
But I could have told you, Vincent
This world was never meant for one
As beautiful as you
For they could not love you
But still your love was true
And when no hope was left inside
On that starry, starry night
You took your life as lovers often do
But I could have told you, Vincent
This world was never meant for one
As beautiful as you

Re: Lyrically Speaking 11-6-25
1. She stood there bright as the sun on that California coast
He was a Midwestern boy on his own
She looked at him with those soft eyes, so innocent and blue
He knew right then he was too far from home
Hollywood Nights - Bob Seger
2. Before the breathin' air is gone
Before the sun is just a bright spot in the nighttime
Out where the rivers like to run
I stand alone and take back somethin' worth rememberin'
Out in the Country - Three Dog Night
3. Two men say they're Jesus,
One of them must be wrong
Industrial Disease - Dire Straits
Somehow I'd get by
Leather and Lace - Stevie Nicks and Don Henley
5. For the ones who had a notion
A notion deep inside
That it ain't no sin to be glad you're alive
I wanna find one face
That ain't looking through me
I wanna find one place
I wanna spit in the face of these…
Badlands - Bruce Springsteen
6. When I'm tired and thinking cold
I hide in my music, forget the day
And dream of a girl I used to know
I closed my eyes and she slipped away
More Than a Feeling - Boston
7. Lookin' out at the road rushin' under my wheels
I don't know how to tell you all just how crazy this life feels
I look around for the friends that I used to turn to to pull me through
Lookin' into their eyes, I see them runnin' too
Running on Empty - Jackson Browne
8. She don't like other women
She likes whips and chains
She likes cocaine and flippin' out with Great Danes
She's about all I can handle
It's too much for my brain
Got Me Under Pressure - ZZ Top
Bonus: According to the lyrics to #7, in what year was the singer born?
If in '65 he was 17 and in '69 he was 21 he was born in 1948. And Jackson Browne was in fact born then.
I was born in late 1957, and when I sing along with this I change '65 and '69 to '75 and '79. The rest of the song still fits.

Works for me, too, as I was born in 1958.I was born in late 1957, and when I sing along with this I change '65 and '69 to '75 and '79. The rest of the song still fits.
..what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? let them take arms.
~~ Thomas Jefferson
War is where the government tells you who the bad guy is.
Revolution is when you decide that for yourself.
