In their 13-11 loss to the Denver Broncos in London Sunday, the Mark Sanchez-less New York Jets managed the seemingly impossible feat of winding up with -10 yards passing. Under NFL statistical rules, sacks are counted as passing yardage, and the 55 yards Jets quarterback Justin Fields lost on nine sacks exceeded the 45 yards the Jets gained on Fields's nine completions. The Jets wound up with 82 yards of total offense.
Amazingly, the Jets had a chance to win the game, as they led 11-10 until a Denver field goal with five minutes left. The Jets had three field goals and a safety (which gave them the second half lead) thanks to a Denver holding penalty in their own end zone. Two of the Jets field goals came on "drives" totalling four yards when they started in Denver territory following a Denver lost fumble and a long kickoff return.
After the game, fans were seen outside the stadium protesting and demanding fewer American football games in England next season.

And it is only the 2nd time a game ended 11-10. The first time was in 2008 when the Steelers won over the Chargers.silverscreenselect wrote: ↑Mon Oct 13, 2025 9:43 amIn their 13-11 loss to the Denver Broncos in London Sunday, the Mark Sanchez-less New York Jets managed the seemingly impossible feat of winding up with -10 yards passing. The game didn't end 11-10. You didn't think the Jets actually managed to win a game, did you? --BobBackInTex wrote: ↑Mon Oct 13, 2025 10:59 amAnd it is only the 2nd time a game ended 11-10. Re: Bizarre NFL Statistic of the Week
Wow, blew that one.
Howver, then number of times for 13-11 is also two. The first time was in 1983 The Broncos lost that game to the Seahawks. So they lost the first 13-11 game and won the second.
Also, Denver WAS involved in the second 11-10 game, which they won against San Francisco in 2022.
Denver, Denver, Denver....it's all about them.

So technically, I had more passing yards on Sunday than the entire Jets team. Yay for me!

Re: Bizarre NFL Statistic of the Week
I'm so glad to see that the Broncos are an ongoing source of amusement for y'all.
I'm sure you were even more amused when we pulled off a last second (OK, two second) field goal victory over the Giants Sunday.
What a game! Bo Nix was winning me my other fantasy league game (my non-WWTBAM league) the first three quarters of that game, then he almost lost it for me the fourth quarter.
I hope we're laughing all the way to the Super Bowl.
