Sublime, meet Ridiculous

#1 Post by KillerTomato » Thu May 15, 2008 12:37 pm

So after two glorious weeks of sun, fun, rest and relaxation, I got back to work today to find about 300 emails and a couple dozen voicemail ( and this with an out-of-office message both for email and voicemail. I can only imagine how bad it would have been without them!

Once I get my photos sorted, and trip report finished, I will post it all. You may all choose to ignore it. Suffice it to say that I'm exhausted but rested, tan but pasty white, richer and poorer, and the owner of a DVD that NO ONE will ever, ever, ever see. And if you want an explanation of any of these semi-tittilating teasers, you'll just have to wait...

Of course the person sending you e-mail doesn't get the "out of office" reply until the message is sent, so you get it anyway (that's the same issue I have here - it would be nice if the messages were bounced back to the sender, but it doesn't work that way).

Of COURSE we want details - especially about the "DVD that NO ONE will ever, ever, ever see."

Sorry, I DON'T want to see it......(I'll try that reverse psychology).

Yeah, I saw this. I'm hoping they post the roadrip audition cities soon, so I can decide where I will end up. No use driving 7 hours if they're comic g somewhere close.

Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

Snort. I forgot to get T_Bone something for his birthday, so I am going to steal a dad's credit card and send him two therapists and a bag of Fritos.

Just as long as the two therapists stay away from my Fritos. Let 'em get their own.

More than one therapist? Well, I suppose two headshrinkers are better than one.

I did sing some karaoke, but not too much. Mostly because I didn't think the room full of blue-hairs would appreciate what I wanted to sing. Let's just say my rendition of REM's "Losing My Religion" didn't go over that well...but the couple of people who were under 50 seemed to like it.
