Actor Martin Kove, who played Kreese, the evil sensei on the Cobra Kai series and the Karate Kid movies, was kicked out of a fan convention in Puyallup, WA, over the weekend for forcibly biting and trying to kiss Cobra Kai co-star Alicia Hannah-Kim. According to reports, he grabbed her arm and bit in when she passed by his table at the convention, then tried to kiss the arm before she pulled it away. Later, Kove told Hannah-Kim what he did was "in fun" and she and her husband decided to contact the police. When police arrived, Hannah-Kim declined to press charges, but Kove was "escorted" out of the convention.

Rays' Wander Franco found guilty of sexually abusing 14-year-old girl

Tampa Bay Rays All-Star shortstop Wander Franco received a two-year suspended prison sentence Thursday when he was found guilty of sexual abuse of a minor in the Dominican Republic, which could end his baseball career.

Franco, 24, who signed an 11-year, $182 million contract in 2021, will remain on Major League Baseball's restricted list.

If he’s unable to secure a visa to work in the United States because of the guilty verdict, he won’t be able to play again in MLB. Even if Franco is able to obtain a visa in the future, the Rays could seek to have the remaining $133 million remaining on his contract voided based on violating moral turpitude.

Former Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker has been suspended for the first 10 weeks of the 2025 regular season after the NFL found that he violated its personal conduct policy, the league announced Thursday.

Tucker can serve the suspension as a free agent and is free to sign with an NFL team. If he were to sign with a team, he could attend training camp and play in preseason games before the suspension starts Aug. 26.

He is eligible for reinstatement Nov. 11, the NFL said.

Tucker, 35, was accused of sexual misconduct by 16 massage therapists from eight high-end spas and wellness centers in the Baltimore area, according to The Baltimore Banner. All of the alleged misconduct reportedly occurred between 2012 and 2016, during Tucker's first five seasons in the NFL.

The Ravens released Tucker on May 5, parting ways with the league's most accurate kicker during the NFL's investigation.

If they paid them less, they'd have fewer problems like this.

Cornerback Maxwell Hairston, the Buffalo Bills' first-round draft choice in this year's NFL draft, has been sued by a woman who alleges Hairston raped her in 2021 when they were both students at the University of Kentucky. In the suit, she claims Hairston followed her into her dorm room and, when she rejected his advances, pulled off her pajama shorts and raped her. (They were both living in the same dormitory at the time.) At the time of the NFL draft, the Bills General Manager Brendan Beene said the team had investigated the allegations and that there didn't appear to be anything to them. Hairston has not been charged with any crimes in connection with the incident.

Actor Micheal Ward, who is best known for his current role in the film, Eddington, which is currently playing in theaters, has been charged with two counts of rape and three counts of sexual assault involving the same woman. The alleged assault occurred in January 2023. Ward was born in Jamaica and spent most of his career in England, where he starred in the recent Netflix series, Top Boy. When the charges were announced, Ward's British agent dropped him as a client. Ward denies the charges.

California man, 78, accused of sex offenses at Monster Mania Convention in Cherry Hill

Police say several incidents at a convention last weekend prompted criminal charges against a California man.

Gary Busey, 78, of California, is charged with criminal sexual contact, criminal attempt/ criminal sexual contact, harassment and disorderly persons offense.
Actor Gary Busey has pleaded guilty to one count of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact stemming from an incident at a horror convention in New Jersey in 2022. The 81-year-old actor entered his plea during a virtual court appearance before Judge Gwendolyn Blue, who had earlier denied a motion to dismiss the indictment against him.

Busey admitted to inappropriately touching a woman during the annual Monster Mania Convention at the Doubletree Hotel in Camden on August 13, 2022. “It was not an accidental touching,” Busey confirmed when questioned by the judge. Busey appeared to have difficulty hearing the proceedings despite wearing a hearing aid “as loud as it will go.”

Under the plea agreement, prosecutors will dismiss the remaining charges against Busey, which included three additional counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact and one count of attempted fourth-degree criminal sexual contact. All the allegations accused Busey of inappropriate touching during photo shoots at the convention. During the morning session in court, Busey’s defense attorney, Blair Zwillman, had argued that the indictment should be dismissed, claiming the investigation was “faulty” and that police failed to question certain witnesses..

Prosecutor Keith Carmy countered that the evidence in question would not have been exculpatory to Busey and that the substance of witness testimony was indeed presented to the grand jury. Judge Blue denied the motion to dismiss, citing case law and confirming that witness statements were properly presented to the grand jury. Under the terms of the plea agreement, Busey faces one to five years of probation and must pay fines; his attorney has asked for the only sentence to be fines. Busey will have a criminal record as a result of his guilty plea and will be required to submit a DNA sample.
