Author best known for a series of best-selling novels featuring Arkady Renko, a Russian police investigator. The first Renko novel, Gorky Park was made into a movie that starred William Hurt as Renko, and the last in the series, Hotel Ukraine, was just published last week. He also wrote a personal favorite, Nightwings (also made into a movie), a book about vampire bats.
