Cat sneezing

#1 Post by Beebs52 » Fri Dec 13, 2024 4:53 pm

Any comments re this? Kai has been sneezing off and on for a week. Sounds like gunshots, not that I really know what they sound like. He's eating fine, etc. Just a cold? He's totally indoor.

Scooter does this too. Vet said it was probably a dust allergy, but she did give him an antibiotic shot for the cold symptoms.

Absent other symptoms (fever, nasal/ocular discharge, wheezing, lethargy, decreased appetite, etc), allergies would be a reasonable suspect. There is also an outside chance of a foreign body in the nasal cavity. My cat went through a bout of just sneezing this past fall, then it went away on its own after several days.

Of course, the requisite disclaimer that if it persists or he develops other symptoms, he should be checked out for a possible upper respiratory infection.

Put Jeff to work with the vacuum. Cats are so judgmental.
