He's finally got something to cheer about besides women's volleyball.
Nebraska beat Wisconsin 44-25 yesterday to become bowl-eligible for the first time in eight years. That drought had been the longest of any Power Conference school. Now, the pressure is on Wisconsin. If they don't win their season finale against Minnesota Friday, it will snap their string of 22 consecutive bowl seasons, the third longest in the country.
For what it's worth, ESPN's two prognosticators both pick Nebraska to play Georgia Tech in a bowl game. One says it will be in the Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium on December 28 and the other has them meeting in the Duke's Mayo Bowl in Charlotte on January 3.
