So far? Stellar.

Yep, as I basically said in the other thread -he appears to be kicking ass and taking names this time and looks like a man on a mission.

I love the Hegseth pick for DoD.

Last night I started reading Hegseth's new book and obvious blueprint for his DoD job="The War on Warriors."

Hegseth and obviously Trump want warriors in the military-not DEI type crap.

Trump doesn't care about the Washington consultant/lobbyist class which everybody expects this choice to come from.

He picked Hegseth for the guys at the sharp end of the spear.

Tell me again how Trump looks down on and so forth the guys at the sharp end of the spear.

Oh, and if you don't like the Hegseth pick-please make a case that the establishment type generals have done a great job running things for the last while.

Hell, we are losing to the Houthis in Yemen-things are currently not on a good trajectory.

Also, if you don't consider Hegseth to be qualified-please make your case for voting to put Tim Walz a heartbeat away from being Commander-in-Chief.

As I was thinking and reading about the Hegseth pick this morning; I was reminded of George MacDonald Fraser's description of General William Slim in WW2 Burma in "Quartered Safe Out Here."

>>."It was a reminder of what everyone knew: that Slim had enlisted in 1914, fought in the trenches and at Gallipoli, and risen, without advantages, on his own merits....You knew, when he talked of smashing Jap, that to him it meant not only arrows on a map but clearing bunkers and going in under shell-fire; that he had the head of a general with the heart of a private soldier."

God, I love the Hegseth pick and, I suspect, so do the guys at the sharp end of the spear.

ROFLMAO

Speaking of the heart of a private soldier.

Just hit a reference to "Pentagon P***sies" in "The War on Warriors" and he has earned the right to call them that.

A warrior like Hegseth should be fine facing questions from Tammy Duckworth and Joni Ernst. I’ll watch with an open mind.

I fully expect that, of the announced picks, Hegseth will be the toughest to get through confirmation. The deep-state consultant/lobbyist class hates this pick

Wow, things are happening fast this time around.

Just announced Marco Rubio as Secretary of State and Tulsi Gabbard a Director of National Intelligence.

I got a kick out people on my side who were just kvetching that Tulsi had not been yet announced for a role.

Jeez-give it a little time.

And Matt Gaetz as Attorney General.

Maybe Timberlake for Transportation Secretary. With his DUI he’ll probably sail through the Senate

Agreed.

He resigned from the House today.

The House Ethics Committee was releasing its findings on him on Friday. But, since he resigned, the House Ethics Committee has no jurisdiction.

I am thinking that's where the sacrificial lamb part comes in.

He's nominated and resigned to get out of the damaging Ethics report. Then, he'll decline the nomination. That way, the House Ethics info wouldn't come out in the Senate Judiciary hearing.

There are too many MAGA-tilting lawyers who would make better AGs.

Question.

Can the info on Gaetz be forwarded for a state investigation?

Also, funny on Twitter - recess appointments are what Gaetz calls dates.

I looked up the rules of the ethics committee. In most cases the information they uncover is confidential. The press has reported accusations against Gaetz for years, so state authorities could investigate him independently. Unfortunately he lives in Florida.

I have to admit that I did not have Trump "Firing" people ahead of time as he did with Pompeo and Haley on my post-election bingo card.

Now, he just "Fired" Jamie Dimon. -ie "I respect him yada yada-but he will not have a place in my administration."

Should mean that some economic picks are coming soon.

While I certainly haven't agreed with RFK Jr on everything over the years.

It is going to be worth the price of admission to watch the Left twist themselves into knots to support artificial food additives, pesticides, big Pharma and industrial food and big agriculture.

Oh, and just for Weyoun-RFK Jrs Prayer for 19 years.

This year, God sent me Donald J. Trump."

RFK Jr. has just become HHS Secretary."<<<<

A smart-ass answer about his sinful life will likely be his answer.

But I like to think of a saying that I often think of with Trump.

"God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called."

"Make Confirmation Hearings Great Again"

Given the unprecedented interested in the nominations on both sides (they have been likened to watching the NFL Draft)-the confirmation hearings could draw unprecedented viewer interest.

Burgum was picked for Interior. Everybody thought he would get Energy so that was a little bit of a surprise.

IMHO-Good, solid slate overall.

Gaetz seems the most controversial here-but I haven't followed any of the stuff with him so not my fight either way.

Oddly enough, 2 from the Dakotas with Noem being my least favorite pick so far and Hegseth being my favorite.

The government requiring the injection of an experimental, untested serum into our bodies kinda is. Especially after they possibly - probably - funded the gain of function research that produced the virus. It is a hope that once we get the marxists out of the swamp by holding some of them fully accountable, FINALLY for their crimes, we will find out what the truth is.

Would you say the measles vaccine is described that way? I don’t fully understand the cuckoo reaction to the Covid vaccine, but I understand why some people would be cautious. Of course, my experience is tempered by firsthand evidence that those who were not vaccinated got way more sick.

However, we have decades of research toward the incredible safety profile of the MMR vaccine, the polio vaccine, and so on.

What RFK proposes would be unethical. You cannot do a massive double blind trial with half a population being unvaccinated violating all sorts of medical ethical standards, just like you cannot do a double blind trial to see if you need a parachute to jump out of a plane.

More to the point, since we have decades of evidence showing that these vaccines work well without side effects, there’s no reason to get rid of them.

And since the Covid vaccine is essentially optional at this point, I don’t really see what your complaint is about the current vaccination regimen. Unless there’s another pandemic, which is certainly possible with RFK gutting the CDC.

The other thing that amuses me about your Marxist slur is that RFK is proposing all sorts of new regulation of food. I will admit that one thing that intrigues me about him is that he’s interested in our food supply. To be clear, he’s not saying anything that doctors and public health professionals haven’t said either, so the idea that he’s anti-establishment is incorrect. He is probably anti-Monsanto as a better descriptor.

He’s possibly wrong about some stuff, but the ironic thing is that he is certainly proposing much more regulation in this field. For example, telling McDonald’s that they cannot use tallow fat seems awfully big government.

So, you think that government regulation is a good thing. Glad to see we are on the same page!
