VP Harris endorses Trump

#1 Post by BackInTex » Mon Aug 12, 2024 12:58 pm

I wouldn't have believed it had it not been reported on media outlets other than Fox
At an August 10 speech in Nevada, Vice President Harris declared, “When I am president, we will continue our fight for working families of America, including to raise the minimum wage and eliminate taxes on tips for service and hospitality workers.”
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and a proxy endorsement. Just waiting for some mean tweets from her.

I wonder why she or Biden didn't propose this sometime in the last 42 months. <not really> She couldn't have come up with this if Trump wrote it down for her </not really>

Her puppets count on that democrat diehards never get any news other than what's reported on their conglomerate. It shows when any of them are asked by an objective reporter for opinions on any issue.
I also see that at any election board meeting when the democrat minions are called in. They have no idea of the issues under consideration. They only repeat the worn-out, ridiculous talking points they've been fed.

Did I miss where she said she is endorsing Trump?

Tax policies weren’t addressed by Congress during the current administration. That was under Trump. I don’t think he pushed for that during his 48 months.

It's a bad idea, and I say that not because Trump proposed it first, but because of the problems involved (by the way, the same idea was floated by Ron Paul in 2007, 2009, and 2011). Over the next 10 years, revenue would decrease by between $150 and $250 billion dollars, which increases the national debt. Second, it encourages employees to label their income as "tips". Third, the rate of tax evasion on tips is higher than the rate of evasion on regular income already.

revenue would decrease? How about low-salaried citizens would be able to keep more of their money? What increases national debt is the government spending. And a lot of it on fraud, overregulation and just complete stupidity. We need to have people like Elon in charge of looking at government mismanagement.

Only 1/3 of tipped workers would benefit from this; the other 2/3 don't make enough to have to pay taxes in the first place ($18,500 for a person filing a single return).

So, what is your beef with it? You want the federal government to have more money to waste, or do you want hard working citizens to keep the money they've earned? Are you denying there is fraud and waste in the federal government? You want to take more money from citizens to subsidize it?

So I assume you're going to vote for the party (not the candidate. They don't seem to care who the candidate is.) that wants to grow the federal government even more? That is campaigning on raising your taxes to keep feeding the pigs at the trough? I hope you can wake up.

Classification of income will be done on W-2s, filed by employers, so they won't be able to claim it as tip income.

Tax evasion on tip income would go to $0 if tip income is excluded from income tax.

On a different subject, but one that's near and dear to my heart: The state powers that be here in GA (and in other states) are on an all out campaign against citizen challenges to invalid and illegal entries on the State Voter Roll. All kinds of Soros and Elias funded NGOs are threatening county election boards with lawsuits if they accept any Citizen challenges and remove anyone from the voter roll. Cobb County has illegally voted to start charging for citizen challenges. They say it takes too much time and resources away from 'running elections'. Never mind that they are required by law to maintain an accurate and concise list of ELIGIBLE voters. My county has registered 109% of it's voting age population, according to the government EAC (Election Assistance Commission).

Well, if they would keep their voter roll clean, there wouldn't be any citizen challenges.

Duh....

That remains to be seen. And again, only 1/3 of tipped workers would be affected, since the other 2/3 doesn't make enough income to pay income taxes.

No, I don't deny that there is fraud and waste in the federal government (remember, I was a federal employee for 39 years), but even if every penny was eliminated, the debt would remain. Yes, I think the federal government needs money if for no other reason than to pay down the debt. That's why I think the tax code needs to be adjusted so that those who have more pay more (a progressive tax scale).

I live in Kentucky, so it really doesn't matter for whom I vote - Trump will carry the state easily. That said, I am not voting FOR Harris, but AGAINST Trump.

That's the problem. Liberals are usually good people. But they tend to vote for leftists, who are NOT good people.
You are voting for a San Francisco completely woke leftist, who is being completely remade by the controlled media. But I guess it doesn't matter. She will be only a figurehead for the real people in charge. Who you don't know.

Seems to me that liberals tend to vote for smart people, because they tend to be smart.

I think that you’re saying that liberals aren’t smart enough to know that they tend to vote for people who are something akin to evil.

Which means that you’re either smarter or dumber than they are.

Or maybe there’s something else in play here. Like paranoia or something like that.

But getting more rest is always good.

Those figures are hard for me to believe, given how many people who receive tip income don't earn enough income to owe federal income tax.

Vice President Harris, unlike Donny, anticipated the second issue you raised by restricting the treatment to workers in the hospitality and restaurant industries. I believe she's also planning to place an income limit on it.

If tips are no longer subject to federal income tax, doesn't that solve the tax evasion problem in your third sentence? --Bob

I think that you’re saying that liberals aren’t smart enough to know that they tend to vote for people who are something akin to evil.
Sounds like you’re saying liberals are smart enough to know they are voting for something akin to evil.

I’m sure it’s a little bit of both.

If I had adopted his premise, your statement would make sense.

So, what is your beef with it? You want the federal government to have more money to waste, or do you want hard working citizens to keep the money they've earned? Are you denying there is fraud and waste in the federal government? You want to take more money from citizens to subsidize it?
No, I don't deny that there is fraud and waste in the federal government (remember, I was a federal employee for 39 years), but even if every penny was eliminated, the debt would remain. Yes, I think the federal government needs money if for no other reason than to pay down the debt. That's why I think the tax code needs to be adjusted so that those who have more pay more (a progressive tax scale).

So I assume you're going to vote for the party (not the candidate. They don't seem to care who the candidate is.) that wants to grow the federal government even more? That is campaigning on raising your taxes to keep feeding the pigs at the trough? I hope you can wake up.
And you're not voting for trump for what reasons? Do you believe all the blatant lies the democrat party has disseminated over the years? The biden laptop was russian disinformation? biden was sharp as a tack until the debate? On and on and on, as if you are stupid? Yet you believe everything they tell you about trump?

Trump has a record in this office. And he says what he thinks and he actually sticks to it. He tells you exactly who he is and what his positions are. And we were better off in every way during his administration than we are now.

Maybe it doesn't matter in your case. I didn't vote for trump in 2016, because I lived in Washington State. So I understand your position. But still I did not cast a vote for Hillary. So why then would you cast a vote for Harris? Do you want more of this?

As I said, even liberals with good hearts tend to vote for people with evil intent because they play on your emotions. They don't tell you who they really are and what their intentions are. Just like Kamala and Walz. They didn't want to replace biden with Harris, but their narrative and the campaign money put them there. So now they are doing a complete media makeover of both of them. And you are falling for it. Please wake up.

I don't believe "everything they tell [me] about Trump." I'm opposed to him because of what he says - wanting to round up as many as 15 million people who have come here for asylum and using the military to put them into camps before deporting them, many to countries they have never known. I'm opposed to Trump because of his admiration for dictators like Putin, Kim, and Orban. I'm opposed to him because of his inability to tell the truth about the economy, about energy production, about crime, and his belief that America is a "failed state". I'm opposed to Trump because he is a narcissist and a demagogue. I'm opposed to Trump because he runs counter to what my Christian values are.

Since the US is already out of Afghanistan, I don't think there will be any more of that.

It is apparent you do believe everything they tell you about trump. All this is coming from the same people who lied to you about Hunter's laptop, biden's cognitive decline and hundreds of other things.

There will be more disastrous and dangerous decisions like that. You want the same stupidity to continue?

It doesn't matter whether Harris and Walz are evil or not. But they are most certainly not what they are being advertised as. The people that are controlling, promoting and engineering them ARE.
