In case anybody else missed it. Orson Scott Card wrote "The Last Shadow" as a way to tie together and finish the Ender/Shadow(Bean) series'.
I just saw it a few days ago-apparently, an October 2022 publication date.
The Ender series got a little (a lot?) out there-but the Shadow (Bean) series was more straightforward.
Just read a couple of chapters so far and I have to say that I like it so far.

Re: Card's Ender/Shadow Series' Ending
It's been sitting on my bookshelf for the better part of two years. I finally started it about a week ago. Not sure yet what I think of it. --BobSpock wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2024 12:34 pmIn case anybody else missed it. Re: Card's Ender/Shadow Series' Ending
I am not sure when it was published but I know not that year. Way earlier though I cannot list the year.
I have to say I drafted originally at chapter 2 and the first chunk of chapter are going to be 'slum stuff' so if you do not want to read very very dark things in that category you might wanna skip ahead. I personally do not like this book for Bean turning him into a kid from the slump and that was the dumbest reason for the nickname Bean. I am not going to spoil anything beyond 2 chapter but there is some really good bits particularly with the training but it just does not feel like the Bean we saw in Ender's game. if you like Ender's game you might not enjoy this, you might enjoy this but I mean in general this is a very different beast.

Points taken. I would not encourage the Spocklette (Who LOVES Ender's Game) to read these series. Years ago-I tried to get her into the Shadow series-but it did not stick.Game Girl wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2024 4:51 pmI am not sure when it was published but I know not that year. You have an earlier book of the series in mind. I think Ender’s Shadow. The Last Shadow is definitely a recent publication (Wikipedia says November 2021), and it does not have any “slum” scenes in the early chapters. —BobGame Girl wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2024 4:51 pmI am not sure when it was published but I know not that year. yes I was talking about Ender’s shadow, since you mainly referred to Ender's game, I thought that was the one you were talking about.Bob78164 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2024 5:12 pmYou have an earlier book of the series in mind.
