Harris picks Walz
I'm making my pitch for Trump's election team to make ads focusing on MInneaplolis, June 2020. Walz was the governor and Harris was funding bail for rioters. This is going to be easy.

You can't seriously think she would have chosen a Jewish running mate?

Walz is sorta Bideny. Maybe she requires an older whitehaired man to complete or continue the optics.

I heard an interview with Walz a few days ago, and LOVE HIM. He's funny, and has funny kids ("Dad, that's just what's on the internet this week; don't worry about it").

"Would"? No, I didn't think she would. I suppose you are saying this, not out of prejudice, but out of your understanding of the Palestinian problem facing the Democrats in Michigan (and elsewhere). But given what Harris has said, having a Jewish running mate might have eased the fears of Israel-supporters.

I can understand picking a popular and accomplished Midwestern governor who also flipped and then held a Republican-leaning Congressional seat for 12 years.

Exactly. They need Michigan, and that means courting extremists.earendel wrote: ↑Tue Aug 06, 2024 3:53 pm"Would"? No, I didn't think she would. Got to hear Walz boo'ed today at Farmfest-a regional farm show-equipment and whatnot in southwestern Minnesota. Candidate forums are also a feature.
He was slated to be there tomorrow-he attends every year-but that will likely change this year.
He is not popular with the Farmfest crowd.

Speaking as a Minnesotan who did not support him-Walz has a history of being very thin-skinned.
The Stolen Valor controversy has the potential to show everybody just how thin skinned he is.

That’s because many farmers hypocritically take government handouts while condemning those who get them by other means.Spock wrote: ↑Tue Aug 06, 2024 10:22 pmGot to hear Walz boo'ed today at Farmfest-a regional farm show-equipment and whatnot in southwestern Minnesota. "Governor Walz allowed Minneapolis to burn for days, despite President Trump's offer to deploy soldiers and cries for help from the liberal Mayor of Minneapolis," Leavitt said in a statement to ABC News. "In this daily briefing phone call with Governors on June 1, days after the riots began, President Trump acknowledged Governor Walz for FINALLY taking action to deploy the National Guard to end the violence in the city."

Global warming or manmade global warming? You are really on topic in some decade or another.

Well, he does seem to imagine he's got his finger on the pulse of others, especially those for whom he has disdain. Almost as much as sss

Re: Harris picks Walz
As usual, a spokesperson for Donny, confronted with something Donny now wishes he hadn't said, is simply lying.Beebs52 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2024 6:01 pm"Governor Walz allowed Minneapolis to burn for days, despite President Trump's offer to deploy soldiers and cries for help from the liberal Mayor of Minneapolis," Leavitt said in a statement to ABC News. "In this daily briefing phone call with Governors on June 1, days after the riots began, President Trump acknowledged Governor Walz for FINALLY taking action to deploy the National Guard to end the violence in the city."
To be precise, Donny FIRST called for the National Guard to be sent in on May 29. Governor Walz signed the order sending the National Guard to Minneapolis on May 28. In a portion of the phone call that was not cited in the story I linked (but which I've now heard with my own ears on television), Donny specifically said that he didn't blame Governor Walz for what happened in Minneapolis. He blamed the Mayor.
So to be as clear as possible, Donny's campaign is provably lying about the facts here. Just like Donny always does. --Bob
