I'd question a couple of these, especially Brando and Newman, whose ranking seems based more on their overall filmography rather than the one or two Westerns for which they are known.

You'd think Randolph Scott might have made it just on the sheer volume of films. They also might have recognized an early pioneer like Tom MIx.

Looks like they're going off of one film (like Kurt Russell and Sam Elliott) and are really big fans of the Magnificent 7 and Spaghetti Westerns (give him his due, Franco Nero was in my fave China 9 Liberty 37).

Dean Martin, Robert Mitchum and Lee Marvin got the shaft, big time! I mean, Marvin won the Oscar, for God's sake!! And my all time favorite western Five Card Stud and Martin and Mitchum! (Two my my favorite John Wayne flix are El Dorado and Sons of Katie Elder, mostly for Mitchum and Martin, respectively).

And don't forget the classic "Texas Across the River". One of my favorite Dean Martin movies.

Mitchum and Martin are excellent choices. So is Kirk Douglas: Gunfight at the OK Corral; Lonely are the Brave; The War Wagon; The Way West; The Man from Snowy River (an Australian Western with him in a dual role); There Was a Crooked Man (a guilty pleasure favorite of mine), and several others.

My DirectTV subscription includes Encore, which is seven channels, including Westerns. They don't have as big a library of Westerns as they do films in other genres, so their films get replayed a lot and it seems like there's always a Kirk Douglas movie on.

And, as has been said, Dean Martin, Kirk Douglas and Robert Mitchum certainly deserve some consideration.
