I can’t help but wonder, if there were very high stakes involved— (like your life or some else’s)— how you’d answer that.
I’d bet, if my life depended on it, that an overwhelming majority of Trump supporters, if their lives depended on it (and they were actually convinced that they were) would reluctantly opt for the answer that he did, indeed, say it. Of course, they’d still continue to support him for various reasons anyway.
I think that only the most feverish and emotional of the MAGA TDS cult members would actually be so incapable of clarity of mind and rationality to —gun to the head — opt for the answer that he didn’t say it.
Even a smaller group would actually think and say that anyone who opted for the other answer is stupid.

And, if my life was also on the line on the related issue, I’d still bet that most Trump supporters would, too, if they were convinced that their lives were truly on the line.

The people that claimed that Trump never made those comments just said they never heard him make the comments. Kelly went on the record to back up the multiple unnamed sources from the original report.John Kelly wrote:What can I add that has not already been said? A person that thinks those who defend their country in uniform, or are shot down or seriously wounded in combat, or spend years being tortured as POWs are all 'suckers' because 'there is nothing in it for them.' A person that did not want to be seen in the presence of military amputees because 'it doesn't look good for me.' A person who demonstrated open contempt for a Gold Star family – for all Gold Star families – on TV during the 2016 campaign, and rants that our most precious heroes who gave their lives in America's defense are 'losers' and wouldn't visit their graves in France.

Kelly said he actually heard Trump say those words? If he did, he didn’t need to backup the unnamed sources. He wouldn’t be backing up unnamed source. He would be a named source. But he isn’t. Right? If you have a link where Kelly is saying “I too heard the words”, please share.silverscreenselect wrote: ↑Sun Jun 09, 2024 11:32 pmFrom the Snopes article:BackInTex wrote: ↑Sun Jun 09, 2024 10:27 pmThey don’t care about truthBeebs52 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2024 4:02 pmFor those who swear by snopes

I have not seen anything that suggested that Kelly said that he heard him utter those words on that occasion. Not saying necessarily that he didn’t — (I haven’t searched for other links) — but I’d bet, based on these reports, that he didn’t.BackInTex wrote: ↑Mon Jun 10, 2024 5:26 amKelly said he actually heard Trump say those words? “What can I add that has not already been said?” Kelly said, when asked if he wanted to weigh in on his former boss in light of recent comments made by other former Trump officials. “A person that thinks those who defend their country in uniform, or are shot down or seriously wounded in combat, or spend years being tortured as POWs are all ‘suckers’ because ‘there is nothing in it for them.’ A person that did not want to be seen in the presence of military amputees because ‘it doesn’t look good for me.’ A person who demonstrated open contempt for a Gold Star family – for all Gold Star families – on TV during the 2016 campaign, and rants that our most precious heroes who gave their lives in America’s defense are ‘losers’ and wouldn’t visit their graves in France.
