Yes, moderators can do that.
However, when that idea was first raised at the creation of the Political Lounge, one of the participants in this thread objected to the idea in general. If that poster weren't on this thread, I'd do it because I don't think anyone else objects, but in keeping with the extreme

I agree that that would be a good idea, but I think when the Lounge was set up, one of the stipulations would be only if the originator of the thread agreed so it would be up to Flock.
