Background checks, red flags, et
To preface I think these should be happening. Is it attributable to states? What are the 2nd amendment arguments? Lotsa mush out there

AFAIK even the current conservative Supreme Court is OK with these sorts of laws. They don’t tolerate restrictions on law-abiding citizens’ 2nd amendment rights. The reason background check and red flag laws have loopholes has more to do with the political will of legislatures.

As in if you've been convicted of something or other. What about mental health flags? Does that exist in law?

So. Much. Mental illness. We just had a machete-weilding dude downtown yesterday. Much craziness.
