For those with Netflix, they now have a series of four short films written and directed by Wes Anderson based on stories by Roald Dahl. The longest, Henry Sugar, is about 40 minutes long and the other three are about 15 minutes long. The films are made in Wes Anderson's offbeat style, so it's basically a question of whether you like his work or not. Henry Sugar has an excellent cast with Benedict Cumberbatch, Ralph Fiennes (who plays Dahl), and Ben Kingsley. Those three show up in some of the other stories as well.
There's an Oscar category for Best Short Live-Action film that usually doesn't get much notice, since the nominees are usually independent producers looking to get financing for longer works. But my guess is that Henry Sugar would be the favorite for this category at next year's Oscars.
