Anybody Else get a Call from Deal or No Deal?
I got a call from DoND. I'm wondering if this was in response to that Over-50 Win $100K thing I filled out a few weeks ago. I haven't called the number back yet (I just got back from Vegas) but I was curious if anyone else got a call.

If you have won, congratulations!
(I hope that the call didn't originate in Nigeria.)

I had no idea they were fishing for syndicated contestants.ulysses5019 wrote:I got a call for the syndicated version. I'll see if I can find the thread.
Was that what I fill out the form for? (Obviously)

Not sure. When I talked to Michael he had lost his notes concerning my "application". he did not say anything about the syndi DoND version being a mawgfest. I have to call him today for my interview next week.Sir_Galahad wrote:I had no idea they were fishing for syndicated contestants.ulysses5019 wrote:I got a call for the syndicated version. Well, you live in LA and I suppose getting to an interview is not an issue for you. I wonder if he would interview me on the phone? <LOL>ulysses5019 wrote:Not sure. I will ask him. Should he dial 1-S-I-R-G-A-L-A-H-A-D?

I am crushed. I spoke with Michael but he didn't seem to enthusiastic after I told him that I have never seen the show (and I haven't). He mentioned something about their auditions having up to 14,000 applicants in one day and that they were, more or less, looking for contestants either in the Culver City area or visiting same. He suggested I watch the show. I tried to persuade him to fly me out but he wouldn't go for it. Dang!

If they have so many people voluntarily showing up to audition, why does he need to thumb through his Rolodex looking for more? I bet every one of those 14,000 is capable of picking a number between 1 and 26.Sir_Galahad wrote:He mentioned something about their auditions having up to 14,000 applicants in one day and that they were, more or less, looking for contestants either in the Culver City area or visiting same. I only learned to count to 2.2. And I can't get past the first row of case carriers....
