The Political Lounge Is Now Open

In the spirit of Eyegor, I've decided for now to compromise on this issue and create a separate forum for politics while not expressly banning it from the main forum. The new subforum should be visible on the main index page....

If you are so inclined, please give it a try....

And I, and I assume many others, ask that.....

1. If you're going to start a thread that you know is going to divide the Bored into the usual two groups with lots of pushing and shoving back and forth, PLEASE start it to the Political Lounge.

2. If you're going to start a thread with a topic title that is inflammatory or calls out another BB on something that is inflammatory, PLEASE start it in the Political Lounge. This right here is why the old Pollyanna advice "if you don't like politics, just don't read the threads" doesn't mean a damned thing....

3. The Political Lounge will be moderated just like the main forum is, which is to say, it won't be. Have at it, be an asshole, or not. I don't care, I won't be reading over there....

This is entirely voluntary as no threads of a political or nasty nature will be moved there by me or any of the moderators..... but PLEASE respect those who'd like to keep the main forum a decent place to hang out or even lurk every once in a while....

If necessary, we'll reevaluate the situation of how well this works at a later date.... but for now, hopefully this will somewhat satisfy those who wanted and didn't want a separate forum...
