Twitter Phishing Expedition

#1 Post by silverscreenselect » Tue Aug 15, 2023 7:10 am

When I got up this morning, I had about a dozen emails from Twitter telling me that someone had logged into my account from locations all over the country at 3:00 am. They advised me that if this wasn't me, I should change my password by following the link. I know better than to do that. Finally, I got another email saying I'd need to enter the provided security code to prove it was me trying to log in. Then I got another email saying I'd have to answer some security questions to prove it was me.

Of course, I went to my twitter account on my computer, not the link they so graciously provided me with in their emails, and changed my password. What's weird is that I had a bunch of notifications on my account about these attempted logins. So someone was accessing my account or they found some way to send me tweets that made it look like someone was accessing my account.

I anticipate a Trump indictment on this matter soon!
To argue with a person who has renounced the use of reason is like administering medicine to the dead. -Thomas Paine
You can ignore reality, but you can't ignore the consequences of ignoring reality. -Ayn Rand
Those who can make you believe absurdities, can make you commit atrocities. -Voltaire
