After reading those 'reviews', I have some questions. What the hell is QAnon and why are they so obsessed with it? Never in my life have I ever had any conversation with anybody where that word has been uttered. As far as I know, this might be the first time I've ever written or typed that word. The only place I've ever heard that word is from leftists accusing people they don't like as being part of it. Being part of what? And did they all come to that association all by themselves individually? How coincidental.

And they don't like the phrase 'God's children are not for sale' like it's some kind of epithet to them. Who are these people?

QAnon, conspiracy theory originating in forum posts on the website 4chan in October 2017. Conspiracy adherents believed that U.S. Pres. Donald Trump was waging a secret war against a cabal of satanic cannibalistic pedophiles within Hollywood, the Democratic Party, and the so-called “deep state” within the United States government. Trump also used Twitter to boost QAnon’s reach. He retweeted scores of posts from QAnon believers and other conspiracy theorists; at least some of these posts came from accounts which were later determined to have been run by Russian intelligence agents. During wildfire season on the West Coast of the United States in the fall of 2020, Q reposted false claims made by a former U.S. Senate candidate from Oregon that six members of Antifa had been arrested for starting wildfires. In this way QAnon and the broader Trump movement created a mutually reinforced shared reality.

In the 2020 elections dozens of Republican congressional candidates voiced their support for QAnon. Two—Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia and Lauren Boebert of Colorado—were elected to the U.S. House of Representatives. Both were among the most vocal supporters of Trump’s “big lie” concerning the outcome of the 2020 U.S. presidential contest. By that time Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube had begun to quash QAnon content, an effort that only intensified after the January 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol by Trump supporters.

Again, the only place his name comes up is by leftists using him as an example of all conservatives. Same thing with QAnon. It almost always involves immigrants who don’t speak English, the exact boat they would spit on otherwise.

The reason they care? They have conspiratorial minds, and this is a dark thing that does not have the truth completely exposed, so they fill it in with all their objections about the world.

They also like to use it as a rhetorical cudgel against anything they don’t like. Why care about Ukraine? When you don’t care about the kidnap kids? Why care about paying for diabetes treatments or Narcan when you don’t care about the kids? Etc. The answer is, you could probably pay for both, but people like flock don’t want to pay for any, truthfully.

Finally, it gives them a sense that they are superior to other people, and that their crimes and sins aren’t so bad. Yes, they may believe in harmful things that indirectly cause harm to people, or break the speed limit, or lie, or whatever, but at least they don’t kidnap kids! It’s Southern Baptist turn-a-blind-eye-to-your-own-sins at its most quintessential.

On the big screen: a box office hit promoted by followers of QAnon. Trump, who is running for president again, hosted a private screening of Sound of Freedom, a thriller about child sex trafficking, at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, on Wednesday night.

Before the screening, the ex-president praised lead actor Jim Caviezel as a “great star” who is “doing very well” and invited his former strategist Steve Bannon – “he can’t stand controversy” – to address the audience. Bannon, who hosts a popular rightwing podcast, said: “This movie can unite the country. It’s already united Jared, Ivanka, Kellyanne and Steve Bannon” – a humorous reference to bitter infighting that racked the Trump White House. Other guests included Kari Lake, a former candidate for governor of Arizona and fervent promoter of the “big lie” of a stolen election, and Jack Posobiec, who has pushed bogus conspiracy theories such as “Pizzagate”, which held that Democrats were running a child sex and torture ring beneath a pizzeria in Washington.

The [Sound of Freedom] screenplay never directly references QAnon, a baseless conspiracy theory that asserts Democrats are a cabal of Satan worshippers who traffic children for sex. But Caviezel spoke at a QAnon convention in 2021 and, while promoting the film on Bannon’s podcast, remarked that “there is a big storm coming” – a QAnon trope.

I previously had a discussion with a colleague, who, granted, always complains about the Ukraine war, but he keeps mentioning that if we can send Ukraine cluster bombs, why can’t we investigate this?

Of course, we are, but that’s not the point.

He seems to believe that the situation is so important that we can ignore a war that has the potential to spill into a world war, and already is killing plenty of civilians, including innumerable children.

I think that partly reflects the bias that, if a problem is not perceived to be in front of you, you ignore it. I have a feeling if he was in the Ukraine, he might have enough humanity to perceive the gravity of the problem.

But my point is this. If you think this is such a large problem that it is more important than a world war, what do you do about it? Do you develop a coalition of people across multiple spectrums, given the different interest groups involved, or do you go to weird conventions, and talk about adrenal gland harvesting?

When you bypass coalition building to talk about nutty conspiracy theories, it shows that you’re not really caring about the problem, you’re caring about believing your truth, and making others seem wrong.

Flock would rather have his truth and rub it in our faces than actually fix things.

It's getting more and more apparent that English is a very difficult language for the left. They seem to understand most of the words, but very seldom do they understand the meaning of what's being communicated to them. They start talking about shit that was never said. And take everything out of its context.
Plus they write sentences that make no sense in the current context of the conversation. (Maybe 'cause they're drinking too much)
I will assume you mean you don't believe I NEVER heard of Qanon.
Of course, I've heard of them, but they are as relevant to me as David Duke is. And I've never had a spoken conversation about them with anyone, and this is the only place I've ever put those 5 letters together. The only people I've seen talking about them (on the various media) or writing about them are LEFTISTS. Like you. They seem to take up a great deal of space in your minds.
