Richard Belzer, Extraordinarily Smart-Ass as a Comic and a TV Cop, Dies at 78

On Thursday’s episode of SVU, Fin referred at some length to Munch. I wonder if they knew he was ill and intended this as an homage. —Bob

My favorite SVU character. One of these days, I'll look in on his Homicide: Life on the Streets episodes. I bet he's my favorite there too.

For some reason, it seems like Homicide is not streaming anywhere. It was a favorite of mine and had a terrific cast - In addition to Belzer, you had Ned Beatty, Yaphet Kotto, Melissa Leo, with Giancarlo Esposito and Michelle Forbes late in the run, and Andre Braugher who was electric in the role of Pembleton. I have searched for it quite a bit and not been able to find it. One of the best shows of the '90's.
