So, How Did That Work Out For You Lady?

#1 Post by Spock » Tue Dec 20, 2022 3:40 pm

My estranged sister (4 years younger than me) is the very definition of a Covid Karen taken to the extreme. It is fair to say that she has not lived her best life for the last 3 years due to extreme Covid precautions.

For example, she would not come down to my parents' house-she and her family flew down (her and her husband are both pilots) for a couple of outdoor picnics with my parents and my kids. She made my kids put on masks if they came anywhere near her (outdoors, mind you).

The couple of times that my parents went to her house, I kind of gathered that the precautions were a little extreme.

She is also an organic, health food nut to the extent that the beef (prior to the estrangement) from our farm wasn't good enough for her and her family-she had to have organic, grass-fed beef.

Well, guess who has been diagnosed with a very rare, very aggressive form of thyroid cancer with a very poor prognosis.

Great life choices there lady, to have lived the last 3 years in fear of a cold-what might be your last healthy years could have been much better years for you.

Oh, well-if the same thing happened to me or if I drop dead tomorrow-at least I know I have been living the best life possible.

You are a better woman than I am Beebs! I am hoping he stays far far away, so as not to ruin her last moments with his gloating.

Is your "best life possible" gloating about your sister's potential death to a bunch of folks who barely know you? If so, I'll have my check.

It can be incredibly frustrating when people we care about make what appear to be poor choices.

Spock, in spite of a handful of judgmental assholes, I believe this is still a safe place to vent.

Not a single one of us knows what's behind the estrangement mentioned or how warranted Spocks thoughts might be - why don't you just pretend she is Trump, or one of his supporters? That way you can sleep tonight.

I remember the time that Spock wished serious illness on my son, because I chose to get him vaccinated against COVID-19.

It’s possible Spock is just a malignant person.

I suppose I should just pretend my little kid is a Trump supporter. That would’ve made it easier if something bad happened to him, right?

A lot of people ate organic beef prior to the pandemic. I suspect your reason for being upset is the fact she wouldn't eat your beef. Perhaps her reason had something to do with her knowledge of your attitude toward "silly" government regulations and a suspicion that you might have cut some corners involving that beef from your farm.

When I have time (like if ever :? ) I should go back through all the Covid threads and point out all the "loving" comments made when folks who chose not to get the vaccine died from somthing, presumably Covid. There was a lot of "deserved it" type comments from some of you here now critisizing Spock. But unlike Spock, you didn't know those people personally and how truly miserably awful they may have been to others prior to their demise.

Nah, I imagine your son has enough to deal with.
