I got half as many emails this morning as I've been getting most days recently. Every Democratic candidate and organization was asking me for money. So was James Carville, Martin Sheen, Jeff Goldblum, and other celebrities. If I wanted to donate to Raphael Warnock, and I did, I didn't need his campaign to beg me for money over a hundred times. And these emails were very poorly written, much worse than the ones peddling fake investments and junk products I also get. I don't understand the reasoning process whereby candidates and their campaigns think that, even though their 49 earlier emails didn't work, the 50th might.
I don't know if Republican candidates are that bad, but the sheer volume of junk I get is enough to make me scream. And for those who might ask, I turn off my spam filters. I've lost legitimate emails that got caught in the filter. It's better to delete 99 junk emails than miss one important one.
I'll still get emails from Warnock (and make an additional donation), but I won't get them from Val Demings, John Fetterman, Tim Ryan, Mark Kelly, and the rest of them.

I used to get lots of political spam and would just delete it. But it got tiring so I make an effort to always click the "unscribe" before deleting. I get very little spam now. Just one recurring one that the unsubscibe doesn't work on my phone app so I need to do it on the web.

I set email filters to move all Republican emails to spam. I got dozens of Democratic fund-raising emails that I ignored too. I did contribute to some.
I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.
