It helps to remember that a movie can't be linked directly to another movie, nor a song to another song. I think that's why putting the linking answer in the middle like this helps.

So...with the link in the middle

A-48. Fresh (Kool and the Gang) + B-11. TOO HOT to Handle (Myrna Loy) + B-2. Best Years of Our Lives

A-64. Merry Christmas, Darling (The Carpenters) + B-31 Jesus Christ SUPERSTAR (Ted Neeley) + B-46 Django Unchained

EDITED: Since Jamie Foxx fits so well with Ray and Django, I am thinking that The Carpenters/Superstar matchup must be wrong, because the only person I can think of in JCS besides Neeley is Josh Mostel and the only other movie of his I see off the bat is Wall Street, which is here for Michael Douglas.

A-2. Cat's in the Cradle (Harry Chapin) + B-37 TAXI Driver (Cybill Shepherd) + B-27. The Heartbreak Kid

A. 55. Living In Shame (The Supremes) + B-29. REFLECTIONS of a Golden Eye (Gena Rowlands) + B-13 Lonely Are the Brave

A-70. Standing in the Shadows of Love (The Four Tops) B-63. Song of BERNADETTE (Jennifer Jones) + B-42. Since You Went Away

A. 59. Don't Hang Up (The Orlons) + B-52 Pickup on SOUTH STREET (Richard Widmark) + B-33. Kiss of Death

While this works, I am still not sure that KISS of Death isn't here for Prince.

TANGREDI:

If a triple has one movie and two songs, the star of the movie also stars in a movie whose title is contained in the first song’s title, and the artist of the second song also sings a song whose title is contained in the movie’s title.

If a triple has one song and two movies, the artist of the song also sings a song whose title is contained in the first movie’s title, and the star of the second movie also stars in a movie whose title is contained in the song’s title.

In all cases, at least one of the embedded titles is a single word.

A-8. Hotel ROOM SERVICE (The Marx Brothers) + B-20. MONKEY Business (George Michael) + A-45. Faith

I included my solution for The Passion of the Christ because I think it’s a better fit than the one mrkelley23 found. Even though Frank stated that all of mrkelley23’s triples are correct. If I’m wrong — Bless me, Father, for I have sinned.

I still can’t get most of mellytu74’s triples to work. Some don’t fit the pattern, and I don’t think Gena Rowlands is in Reflections in a Golden Eye.

You are right on Gene Rowlands. She's not in Reflections in a Golden Eye. I was so excited about Faces.

Serves me right for trying to do this at 1 a.m.

It's likely there for Marlon Brando who was in A-24. THE MEN in My Little Girl's Life

I guess I am not grasping how the patterns work. Is this good?

A-70. Standing in the Shadows of Love (The Four Tops) B-63. Song of BERNADETTE (Jennifer Jones) + B-42. Since You Went Away.

The movies have to work. Unless Song of Bernadette is here for DICKIE MOORE, who was in Blonde Venus but I thought he was too far down in the credits for Song of Bernadette.

B-11. TOO HOT to Handle (Kool and the Gang) + A-48. FRESH (Myrna Loy) + B-2. Best Years of Our Lives
This worried me, but I haven't found any evidence that Myrna Loy starred in a movie called Fresh.

I confess I am stupid. Could someone explain even one of the correct triples? I just don't understand.
Well, then

Melly, Frank said you can't have two movies or two songs in a row, so your Jennifer Jones triple above cannot be completely correct.

beebs, take a look at the first triple. I'll use one of mine, since I sweated over it and probably understand it better than ones others have gotten. A-72 was a song called Big Pimpin', by Jay-Z. Tom Hanks was in a movie called Big, hence the capital letters for that word in the title of the song. Tom Hanks also was the star of the movie called A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, B-24, so that links the first two together. Now, forget about Jay-Z and Big Pimpin'. There's a song called Beautiful Day (from the second link in the chain) that is sung by the group U2, who also happen to be represented by A-33, With or Without You. So that links the last two up.

All the triples should read either BAB or ABA as you go across.

And thank you so much, jarnon, for cleaning up my mess and making the consolidation readable.

I see that. And I still keep screwing that one up.

So, I need to rework both Jennifer Jones and Myrna Loy - at least their movies, since neither of them may be here.

jarnon, I think you're right about the Passion of the Christ match. I was trying to make Mel Gibson fit for The River, but his costar in that movie was Sissy Spacek. So maybe Carrie should be used for that, and Saturday Night Fever for the Travolta match?

B-16 LIAR, liar (Three Dog Night) + A-12 Out in the COUNTRY (Jessica Lange) + B-35 Frances

B-43 FLY AWAY home (John Denver) + A-5 SUNSHINE on my shoulder (Chris Evans) + B-71 Snowpiercer

B-40 Babes ON BROADWAY + A-51 This MAGIC Moment (Anthony Hopkins) + B-9 The Father

A-61 Jumping JACK Flash (Robin Williams) + B-17 What DREAMS May Come (Fleetwood Mac) + A-26 Tusk
