I will note with some caution that HILL PRINCE was a horse Eddie Arcaro rode.

For 93, Stanford is the university. THEODORE? SIMON was the American intelligence tester. We’ve got a ROCK - did I skip over a PETER?

Or possibly HILL, since I used Thomas Hill Green for Howe and Bunker Hill.

I think we decided Eddie Arcaro was not correct for that one. He was retired by the year in question.

Is there a WILD? Because we have a MR TOAD and a RIDE. I am wondering if this is the bandit person.

I have to go to work, but let me note DANIEL BELL could get us to BELL BOTTOMS.
Also maybe ALICE GUY works better than GUY BLACHE.
Pretty sure Becker did not have a career grand slam. I think this LAVER with ANDRE AGASSI perhaps the other possibility if “surface slam” only happened after the US Open changed its surface in the 70s.

69. JMMQ: This choreographer’s best-known work, Le Jeune Homme et la Mort, told the story of a young man driven to suicide by his unfaithful lover.
ALVIN AILEY? AUGUST BOURNONVILLE?
How about ROLAND PETIT?
87. ANTOINE DE SAINT-EXUPERY = 69. PETIT + 4. PRINCE
I was going crazy to make Terrell Davis into Floyd Little.

Did it used to be a CLAY COURT as in Roland-Garros?

Re: Game #208: A Listless Game
Well why wouldn’t it be LITTLE? He was the RB I was trying to think of. The question suggests that he was like seventh all time when he retired and that’s a relatively low career number. I think when Davis retired a lot of people were beyond that mark.mellytu74 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 21, 2022 1:14 pm69. Re: Game #208: A Listless Game
See that makes me wonder if it is RAFA NADAL then.
Sampras - no FRENCH IIRC. Lendl no Wimbledon I think. Borg no Aussie.
Only recent career slam for the longest time was Agassi until the big three of Federer Nadal and Djoker came along. And NADAL is the clay court specialist and probably would’ve been younger than Andre Agassi when he achieved the career slam.
