As one might expect, the headline is bullshit. We are being asked to charge our electric vehicles either before 4:00 p.m. or after 9:00 p.m. in response to a severe heat wave that is anticipated to stress the power system. Death Valley is predicted to record the highest temperature ever recorded on Earth in the month of September.

Our grid is up to the challenge, with some cooperation from our citizens. Now if, like Spock, everyone insists on doing whatever they damn well please when they damn well please, no matter the consequences to those around them, we might have a problem.
