PAF Hall of Shame

Its Coat of Arms would contain the phrase
I'm 25% sure.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

The Capcom cellphone game actually does that, if you try to use the PAF at the $1MM question. It's not much better, and not very accurate, at any of the upper tier levels.
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

I'd rather have a PAF who admits that he's just guessing than one who's cocksure but wrong. No PAF Hall of Fame can be complete without Will Durst and his ilk.

We should also include the contestants who:

(A) misread or mispronounce the question
(B) try to distill the question into something simpler and completely botch it
(C) mumble
(D) tell us in advance that their PAF (usually their dad) is the smartest guy they know

I'm still waiting for this to happen: the contestant reads the choices in the wrong order (vertically, reading A-C-B-D) and then the PAF gives a letter response "B", really meaning "C".

I'm 25% sure

How about contestants who say that they're smarter than their PAFs?
I believe in the usefulness of useless information.

I have also hoped for this. But the PAFs more often respond with the answer rather than the letter, so it hasn't happened yet that I've seen.

I'm not sure what's going on inside that little head of Tom's, but if he "would say flexing her muscles", but only has 10% confidence in it, then that leaves 90% confidence in any of the other 3 answers.... even equally divided, it would be IMPOSSIBLE for "Flexing her (muscles) biceps" to be the answer that Tom would feel the most confident in saying. So just what was Tom trying to say? And just why did Chuck develop such a fascination with rocks while he was young? Amazing how such incompetence can make a person think such deep thoughts...
