Curricula in general

#1 Post by Beebs52 » Wed Apr 13, 2022 2:49 pm

I wish I'd had a group to discuss my father's death and then why I persisted in having a bowlcut, pink cardigan, black glasses, pink pleated skirt, no bra but undershirt, and Hushpuppie shoes in 7th grade.
Then I sorta blossomed in 9th grade. Not "blossomed", but looked better.
Had diverse friends, as I did in high school.
In Wisconsin! Yes! Stronghold of white peeps!
Well, then

And regarding some of the NJersey curriculum proposals. Young elementary children don't need to be taught about masterbation. Any parent knows kids have discovered their private parts by the time they're 2ish. Hello.
And having crushes on your best friends whatever, when you're wee, doesn't mean you need queer theory indoctrination. Everyone idolizes someone.

But none of the actual proposals (which flock linked) do any of those things. What are your criticisms, if any, of the actual proposals under consideration? --Bob

I have posted a proposal and question, which you have, as usual, ignored. What is your problem with giving the proposed curriculum items directly to the parents and letting them do the instruction if they so choose? Why is it so important to you that 1st and 2nd grade teachers instruct their classes in these subjects?

Why not just give the proposed curriculum in every subject directly to the parents and let them do the instruction if they so choose? It would be so much easier if teachers didn't have to actually teach and could just act as day-care monitors for kids during the school day.

What's funny is how far we've come.

Back in the day I got in our PTA head's face, as a room mom coordinator and one of the organizers for the 4th grade "holiday" play, to complain about a few people bitching about having a Christmas tree on the stage.

Had to explain that no one worships the fir tree, unless you're pagan or something, and apparently there weren't any locally...just as no one worships Santa, who was welcome in the holiday play. They also had a menorah, etc.

I won.
