Re: Come on Kansas
I saw a funny t-shirt today:
Kansas
The Birthplace of North Carolina Basketball
After surviving the Creighton-Kansas game, my wife must run another emotional gauntlet tonight.
After KU destroyed Villanova on Saturday, she saw some Facebook messages from the wife/mom of a family with whom we are good friends. She is a rabid North Carolina fan, and she was expressing some anxiety during the early parts of the game. So, my wife took some adult beverages over to the house, and watched the rest of that game over there. I should note that the wife was home alone b/c their 2 daughters are in college, and her husband was calling the game on Westwood One radio. (He actually called her during breaks, asking for her to find some audio clips related to various items, including some comments previously made about Coach K.)
No way that they are watching tonight's game together, but I am hoping for some good-natured trash talk!

Some friends who are K Staters actually were cheering for Ks, only because we have money in it.Appa23 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 04, 2022 12:26 pmI saw a funny t-shirt today:

Just remember the famous words of Michael Jordan
"The ceiling is the roof"
Go Heels!

Just remember that the rules of basketball reside at KU (and on their uniforms).
Side story, when Dr. Naismith was coaching KU, Phog Allen was the coach at the school that my wife and I attended (many years after Allen), and Allen beat Naismith.

Re: Come on Kansas
We were tempted to make a side bet to cover all bases but it would make it a wash, rather than a dollar win (tho taxwise it won't). So, since Houston pooped out gotta go KU. Nothing personal Weasel.

Here’s hoping the wayward sons carry on.
Or they’ll be dust in the wind.
Or they’ll be dust in the wind.

Re: Come on Kansas
Well, I won the Bored Bracket challenge. It did not even matter who won or was in the final four. And since Arkansas didn't make it, I really couldn't have cared less......
Your friendly neighborhood racist. On the waiting list to be a nazi. Designated an honorary snowflake... Always typical, unlike others.., Fulminator, Hopelessly in the tank for trump... inappropriate... Flocking himself... Probably a tucking sexist, too... A clear and present threat to The Future Of Our Democracy.. Doesn't understand anything... Made the trump apologist and enabler playoffs... Heathen bastard... Knows nothing about history... Liar.... don't know much about statistics and polling... Nothing at all about biology... Ignorant Bigot... Potential Future Pariah... Big Nerd... Spiraling, Anti-Trans Bigot.. A Lunatic AND a Bigot.. Very Ignorant of the World in General... Sounds deranged... Fake Christian... Weird... has the mind of a child... Simpleton... gullible idiot... a coward who can't face facts... insufferable and obnoxious dumbass... the usual dum dum... idolatrous donkey-person!... Mouth-breathing moron... Dildo... Inferior thinker

Re: Come on Kansas
I obviously missed something along the way, but now I am wondering if Beebs went to Kansas?
In the same vein, I just thought of a long-gone BB with a handle something like "Jay Hawker."

No. No. It was a promotion by Gallery Furniture that if you buy $3000 or more in stuff and either a Tx team won the final four, or whichever team was closest to the Houston location (Kansas in this case) won, you get a refund.
Thus my come on Kansas. We won the refund, $4598.
I went to Univ of Washington, but am a Sooner by marriage, neither teams in the running.
Well, then
