Some here might be interested in Peter Zeihan's stuff.
Looks at Geopolitics in terms of Geography and Demography.
Short take -Russia's demography sucks so bad that if they were ever going to move on Ukraine they had to do it now.
A couple of recent podcasts with him as a guest.

He has a new book coming out in June 2022.
"The End of the World is Just the Beginning: Mapping the Collapse of Globalization"
I am reading one of his older books "The Accidental Superpower."
Regarding demography-It is nothing that Mark Steyn wasn't onto 15 to 20 years ago-but few here would read Steyn, whereas they might go for some Zeihan.

In the same vein, it has been a while since I read Robert Kaplan's "The Revenge of Geography: What the Map Tells Us About Coming Conflicts and the Battle Against Fate" so I am tempted to look at this again.
IIRC, it is not as directly applicable to "Now" as what I have seen of Zeihan's stuff.

Re: The "Geo" in Geopolitics
It was mentioned in one of the podcasts, but I just hit the page in his 2014 book where Zeihan predicted the year 2022 as the hard deadline for Russia to move against Ukraine given their ever shittier demography.
