Willow Has Crossed the Rainbow Bridge

#1 Post by silverscreenselect » Tue Nov 02, 2021 10:22 pm

Willow was the cat I mentioned in my post to Snaxx last week. We got her from Mrs. SSS's cousin after he died. He got her as a stray, so we're not sure how old she was, but we think about 15. She was never a big cat but in the last few months lost a lot of weight and was basically just fur and bones with a big lump in her chest that the vet said would probably kill her to remove. We did get her some medication, so she ate a little more but over the last week, she quit using the litter box and started peeing in our bed multiple times a day. So, we finally took her to the vet today for the last time. Mrs. SSS took this very hard, because Willow slept next to her almost every night.

But now she's going to be making a lot of new friends in her new home.

Best wishes to Willow in her new home, and to your family.

Rest in Peace Willow. My condolences to Mr. and Mrs. SSS.

Meanwhile my new cat is settling in and has a liking for "people" food as Mom would give her an occasional taste.

I’m sorry, SSS.

You and Mrs. SSS did right by Willow. She knew love and comfort in your care before the illness, and even then it would seem you did everything you could to make things as easy as possible for her. Would that we all could get the same in our home stretches.

We received a wonderful present from the vet clinic where our daughter works. (That's where she took Willow for the last time.) It was a clay mold of one of Willow's paw prints that they made, plus a personalized condolence card. This wasn't the form card some vets give to everyone, but all the employees at the clinic left hand-written notes on the card. Mrs. SSS was very touched by the attention.
