Okay. Comedy. Dave Chappelle
One of our oldest friends has been the emcee at the Comedy Store forever. He may disagree with my post.
You've probably seen the Netflix flap, etc.
I watched Chappelle's The Closer. I think he's quite brilliant. He shrapnels white, black, asian, gay, trans, Detroit...pretty much everyone equally.
I think he's funny and brutal and,,,funny. Funny is key.

Comedy is so subjective, but thinking deply is thinking deeply. I don't know that he is to my taste, but I appreciate that he is not shallow.
You be you (and of course I mean that respectfully! - everyone else doesn't know we just chatted for reals).

Beebs, I agree with your sentiments and would use the same words you did to describe him...brilliant, brutal, etc. He'll target and skewer anyone regardless of race, religion, political persuasion, etc. He does not care if his humor makes you uncomfortable, he is more interested in honesty. And of course, he is very very funny.
Probably his most famous bit was on his Comedy Central show...a sketch in which he played a blind black man who not only didn't realize he was black, but was also a rabid racist and a member of the KKK (his fellow members none the wiser what he looks like under the hood). The sketch is outrageously funny, extremely disconcerting, and absolute genius. In this one bit he perfectly demonstrates the utter absurdity of racism.

He had a great sketch when he hosted SNL right after the 2016 election. He and some of the white cast members were having a Hillary "victory" party. His reactions as the night went on are terrific (and they got better halfway through the sketch when Chris Rock showed up).
